External DSD to PCM converter with passthrough that can be added to existing audio chain in order to add DSD decoding without spending millions of dollars on a DSD-capable DAC?

From Jason in the Last chapter

" with Loki being the least popular product we’d ever introduced, well, there you go. It took us three years to sell the first and only run of Lokis. Never again."

Loki was a DSD DAC

Then There was This.
From Jason in the Last chapter

"When it was clear we’d finally sell out the first run of Lokis—almost 3 years after the introduction—I went to Mike and said, jokingly, “It’s time for you to get working on Loki 2.” His response was unprintable in a family magazine."

No...
not per se
Completely different purpose

What else is there?  ADC?  Not seeing anything obvious here.

I think Mike will approve of me disambiguating The Gadget a bit, if for no other reason than to salve any consternation about "hey, wait a minute, I just bought a Yggy/Gumby/Bimby, are you guys working on something else?"

1. It is not a DAC.
2. It is not an ADC.
3. It is not a superultramegaWyrd.
4. It is not a DSD combobulator.
5. It is not a disk spinner.
6. It is not a server.

It is, however, a digital product. Beyond that, I can't say.

A speaker and room correction processor (think DEQX) with Mike's secret sauce would be awesome!

I'd go for something with DEQXeque functionality -- did just get a Yggy and I'm not breaking that set-up or paying DEQX prices.  I did look into it a bit.
