Beethoven String Quartet No15 - III Molto Adagio - Heiliger Dankgesang. One of the last pieces the Master wrote - a meditation and prayer of thanks:

Yes. Sadly musicians of that era are passing at rates that I dare not contemplate. Joe Sample, Ramsey Lewis and Chic Corea passing (as well as others) are truly sad. Giants in the Jazz genre that willl be missed yet live on with the music they've gifted us. ☹️
Thanks for the heads-up on Ramsey Lewis, will check him out. Very familiar with the other two ... if you want a great listen, cue up this album - it's a blast.
Christian McBride - bass, Brian Blade - drums. Recorded live. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trilogy_(Chick_Corea_album)

Time to fire up the ol’ Time Machine! And it only costs a dollar to ride!

Sparks a massively underrated group -MY top tip ( and speaking from experience ) - don't listen to ' The Missionary position ' from my favourite Sparks album 'Hippopotamus ' on public transport using headphones !! your fellow passengers will mistake your supressed hysterical convulsions and either move away from you or call a Paramedic !!!

You Texans and Tarheels got your BBQ, but I enjoy one of our local delicacies so much it's worth driving 100 miles round-trip to north Phoenix for the best in the region.

Hell yeah, Tamales are freaking awesome. Truly enjoy having the leftover ones the morning after. Having them off a hot skillet, with a little cooking oil to get them nice and crispy on the outside... mmnnngggg. Muy bueno.

I am a big fan of Tom Waits so I love this rendition. Sorry I am being redundant, I have shared it before.

Tom Waits is like Dylan for me. I love his work, but I'd rather hear someone else perform it.

There are a lot of great Tom Waits "homage" albums out there, and this is by far my favorite:

I need to get a copy of "Hippopotamus." Thank you for reminding me!

Sorry about the paramedic!

Replaced the Samsung washer ($2300) with another Samsung washer ($1700), to go with the Samsung dryer. The first washer lasted 7 years. (Remember when washers lasted 15+ years?)

LG Fridge, ($2800), failed in the first year. Lowe's replaced with my choice (Samsung unit). Samsung failed in 6 years (with many problems beforehand).

Replaced with a Whirlpool fridge. Love it. No more Korean appliances for me.
I'd say Samsung knows their electronics but very little about plumbing.

I will listen to that album soon. Growing up, Waits was a huge fan of Dylan. Dylan was from Minnesota but sang as though he was from out west, emulating Woody Guthrie. Waits early work was more truck stop, Beat generation, a smoker of unfiltered cigarettes. I am a fan of both because of their prolific song writing abilities.

Yes, I still listen to Wait's first four albums pretty frequently, but the others only on occasion to appreciate the song writing. Both are truly genius songwriters.

Another Waits homage album that I enjoy is Rebekka Bakken's Little Drop of Poison but I think her voice can take a little getting used to.

One of my favorite covers of Waits is Come On Up to the House: Women sing Waits.😉 Listening to Rebekka Bakken now, I like it, thanks!!!
