I know we all (on mostly) leave our DAC's on all the time, but do you leave your Lokius or Loki Max on? Been turning mine off because it's a little warmer than the DAC's, any reason it would or would not benefit from warmup time?
Oh and by the way, I'm listening to a headphone output we just threw into an upcoming product as a "convenience outlet." You know, like Kara. And seriously, this is crazy good. Of course I am biased. But it does get me wondering where the floor is these days. Certainly much higher than when we started in 2010!
Welcome to the thread, Schiitizen. Sorry for your wallet.
Think $100+ if you want a USA-milled from billet housing... IIRC I/O connector locations and types vary between Pi 3 / 4 / 5, so different versions needed, too.
If you want Pi enclosure to match your Schiit, just buy an old, cheap non-working "for-parts-only" magni / modi / asgard / valhalla / bifrost and gut it.
With the small-size (e.g. magni / modi) chassis some connectors will protrude from the rear of the housing. Also wi-fi / BT may not work so well in an all-metal housing.
I could be wrong, but I believe Jason mentioned in the past being opposed to anything that might hold Pi components with a Schiit nameplate on it because they're gonna be the first place people call when their non-Schiit componentry fails for one reason or another. Seems like it should be common sense but that's how people are.
got a new CD and Vinyl in the post today. enjoyed the first listen with a glass of Old Caz Blue Label.
not sure why I prefer running the source thru the Freya+ tube gain...just do
and the volume control of the Mjolnir rather than Freya
This made me go back and find this classic post by Jason about his time at Sumo, and all the things he was up to before Schiit. It's a great read, as usual.
Wonderful chapter. Jason can write for sure! I can't recall reading it before, as I thought I'd 'done' this forum from the start...
But then my ancient memory cells are not what they were... !
