My current configuration is a pair of Aegirs in mono block feeding 4 ohm Marten Design Dukes. ...
Wow, Martens! Never had the pleasure. Besides "glorious" how would you describe their sound?

I hope he payed nothing.

My father had my house constructed 50+ years ago. He payed for the lot, the construction, the landscaping, everything.

Every year, I'm presented a bill by the City/County government for a percentage of my home's value. Why? Shouldn't there be a point where one's obligations are fulfilled?

Over the course of the last 50 years, the local government has collected many times the value of my home in taxes.

We can never own anything. We rent from government.

Excellent. I have a penchant for dark, aged rums but tonight it is Japanese whisky. A friend is heading or Japan soon so I am trying to decide on what she should bring back. Hibiki or Suntori?

That's the one!

I might have some left; if so, I'll be 'sampling' some this evening.

Yes. As many bottles as he’s willing to carry of both. And, if memory serves (it may not), there’s some JDM only releases of Yamazaki…

It is a she and so far I gave her four brands including Kaiyo and Yamato. It can only be brought back in carry on luggage.

In that case, I’d look for a Hibiki Blossom Harmony release, which is unlike any whisky I’ve ever tasted. A portion of the casks used are Sakura, and it’s generally not released outside Japan.

In CA, it's taxation ignoring representation. Most have probably heard of Proposition 13 that was voted into law by the populace back in 1978. But ouch! The lost revenue caused much pain to the public budgets, so along come two dudes named Mello and Roos that created an additional property tax, thinking that by naming it something else maybe people wouldn't notice that their vote meant nothing. I actually liked living in CA (Rocklin)....nice area, nice neighborhood, really nice people. I just couldn't afford to live there.

Speaking of tubes, There's a pair of mid-late 1950's Tung Sol ECC88's I've found that are selling at a low-ish price. Are these worth it? They'd go into a Freya N.

Not all of us were born with our Gerber baby food served in a 14th century Ming dynasty china cup with a silver spoon made by Paul Revere himself. All we had was paper plates But then my Dad got a better job and we were able to upgrade to cardboard....
Which is, arguably, three paper plates glued together? But it is indeed an upgrade, I agree. Go dad!
