Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I remember seeing amps with that NFCA (nested feedback composite amp) topology having damping factor issues with DACs that output well in excess of 1K ohm output impedance causing the system to sound broken. One particular amp that has this NFCA topology only has 2K ohm input impedance and pairing that amp with those DACs is a fun thing to learn :)

I wish I have schematics but I probably won't ever obtain one. I'm pretty sure Jason can create one of those NFCA schematics on a whim, but definitely that's not his style of design choice

Yes, this is a 2W/32 ohm amp. Yes, that’s all.

Sounds wimpy? Well, that’s why MJ3 will also have a front panel switch so you can run push-pull Class A. And suddenly it’s an 8W/32 ohm amp.

“Wait, what?” you ask. “How did you suddenly get so much more power?”

Through the magic of push-pull Class A.
Why was this statement not carried through to the specs for the Mjolnir 3?

Amazing that a company like Schiit takes the time to list each and every device they make with this data.

Try asking other manufacturers for this info....

Alex
Other manufacturers don't even have that much gear to list to begin with. And notice that that's only the analog stuff. All that in barely a bit over 13 years.

Yeah, and we better be careful or Jason will look at that list and go "We really make all this Schiit?!?" and pare the list down. 🤣

Hel and Fulla added.

DACs--typically voltage feedback, except Modi Multibit 2 and Yggdrasil OG/GS/GS2, which have some zero-feedback complementary buffer stages.

Now...when you say "zero-feedback"...

I have commented in the past I have been impressed with their broad offerings. From what I presume is a small company, I will attribute such a deep and respected product catalog to:

1. not public-traded company greed
2. smart / passionate subject matter experts involved in product development
3. efficient & small batch oriented supply chains of other like-minded companies to keep company focused on what its good at
4. internet removing marketing "departments"
5. direct to consumer pricing efficiencies
