I didn't realise that the Ford Crapi (not a typo) came over here. It was quite the muscle car in the UK in 3 litre V6 form.
I got overtaken by a beautifully restored pair of Capris on the M6 last week. What was once a familiar sight is now a novelty. See also the Austin Mini. I’m getting old…

My favorite of all the cars I've owned was an '83 280ZX. Wasn't all that fast (the '78 280Z I had before it was faster), but man what a road car. Many a trip between Raleigh, NC and central Missouri, 16 hours that I'd usually do in one shot and not even be tired when I got there. And, oh yeah, the chicks dug it.

My mom had one of these, fire engine red. It was super comfortable and had all the bells and whistles. In particular an excellent stereo system where she could play Neil Diamond, Elvis, and Barbra Streisand. Loud.

Even more funny was it's audio warning system - open a door with the car in D; "Right Door is open"; turn car off with the headlights on "Lights are on" -- All done before computer speech synthesis -- this was some type of tape system so the voice sounded real. My mom would talk back to the car when it said something.

It was a nice upgrade from her Pinto station wagon that was also, fire engine red. The Z could go up hills without a running start so there's that.

Sounds interesting thanks, but limited to Airplay on iOS and compressed stream. It’s a 256k bit stream.
For BBC Radio 3 download the BBC Sounds app. It supports Chromecast if your streaming device supports that.
But BBC Sounds isn't significantly higher. It tops out at 320 kbps.

On a related note, BBC believes AAC 320 kbps to be perceptually equivalent to lossless.

My first was a Toyota 1973 Celica LT. 1600cc, 4 Cyl, 5 Speed. Updated it with a weber 2 barrel carby, a Clarion Casette/Tuner, 100W amp through 4 x Pioneer 6" 3 Ways.
My mother said she could hear me coming from the next town. Like this one...

Would love to get another one, that had already been restored and had the 2000cc GT engine. Maybe one day.

I had a Vega when I went to college. The only car where efficiency was measured by the quart rather than the gallon -- around 25 MPG of gas and around 200 miles per quart of oil.

Happened on a well-used '72 Mercury Capri for a nice price. V-6, 4 barrel carb, and true dual exhaust from the factory. Not huge horsepower, but light as a feather and it scooted along pretty nicely. Drove that car for almost 6 years and it had over 150k miles on it when I traded it. That was almost unheard of for cars back then without major work.

Have you been watching Sarah-n-Tuned working on her 1974 V8 swap?
