That's why you have other people for sanity check.
…as long as you can trust them to be honest with you — which isn't necessarily a given if you're the employer (in case of company internal opinions) and/or a somewhat public-ish figure (in case of external testers).

We have some brutally honest early listeners who don't work for us.

On a different place to talk Schiit, someone mentioned that they replaced the output capacitors on a Freya+ which brought me to these questions. 1. Is this advisable and 2. why is it things seem to always sound better after replacing items?
Expectation bias perhaps
I've yet to see anyone talk about how replacing parts, burning in, etc that something sounded worse. I wonder why that is? (rhetorical, I already know)
I dislike the CC copper on the HD-600 - bleech

Spent hours on the HE-5 LE; 4XX; X00 Nahogany; Brainwaywz Alera - to get what I got working on the HE-500 & HE-6 SE and they did not scale - so no good

Updated several speaker crossover caps to no real effect

Added extra capacitance on a Threshold Stasis 3 and that was awful (copying the Dyna 400 to 416 change)

Thankfully lots have gone well

Very true. Which is why I try to avoid gear designed by totalitarian dictators and their flunkies.
Like MQA or Dolby.

"Can you get your Schiit out of my box?"

Mjolnir 3 arrived yesterday, couldn't resist a taste before repacking it for its ultimate destination, where my neighbors are no less than 500 feet away. Grey had to steal my chair to make me stop, around 1am-ish.
