And here I am in continental North America... 😢😢

Yes but if the balance control is on the EQ then you can put only those boosted or cut frequencies more on one side or the other.

Are you suggesting each frequency has an independent balance control? That way lies madness! Or more accurately, pro gear. Definitely available on the creation side of audio, never seen it on the consumption side.

And quite functional, I just sliced a home grown tomato paper thin. Well one slice anyway. I generally use a nakiri but I had to try this one.😉

The problem with trying to cool off a pure Class A amplifier is that they are designed to run hot. So when you attempt to cool them down with a fan, they just work harder to run at the same temperature they were designed to run at. I learned this with a Classe DR3 VHC I owned several years ago which was for all intents and purposes a pot belly stove. 😊

Looks like they haven't depreciated too much - us$2800 in 1985, still fetching $4000 on the used market, sign of a good product. But 300W heat output at idle. Yikes!

The VHC was the best power amplifier I've ever owned. Build quality is superb with the best quality of parts. $2800 was the retail price for the DR-3. The DR3 VHC sold for about $4300 in 1987 (over $11,000 US today) so if you can get a nice one for under $3000 you've done well. A pair of DR3 VHC's put out about 100 WPC pure class A. They were designed to run the Apogee Scintilla at its one ohm setting without shutting down. The Scintilla is notoriously inefficient to drive at that setting and the DR3 VHC set up as monoblocks was one of the few amplifiers that could actually do this successfully. The heat, however, was enough to drive you out of the room. 😉

How about if I make a spiffy display base for your $250 6SN7’s?

Did one of my close circle of friends tell you there was a special prize when I hit 50K. :beerchug:

Wrong person... I have very few tubes, but the thought is exceedingly generous.

I would only consider something if I paid for the shipping.

As you wish. Give me suggestions. No custom knives or the type headphone stand I made for the NC meet. 😁 I could most likely make a Schiit remote holder out of two or more hardwoods, just a thought.

Reel to Reel....can u say Nakamichi Dragon!

or

Revox A77

Had an A77 and B77 MK 2 back in the 1990's. The A77 was always breaking down, but the B77 MK2 was very reliable.
Both sounded great. Also had a Nakamichi Dragon. Great sounding but very tempermental. Ended up with a ZX7 which
offers similar sound with greater reliability.

8 days to the Schiit Meet in Central North Carolina.

Pittsboro, only a few miles south and west of Raleigh, NC.

79 West Innovation Hub in Chatham Park (120 Mosaic Blvd #120, Pittsboro, NC 27312)

Hope to see you all there!!

Alex
:>)
And I have a house full of some serious Schiit!
Schiit has made sure that we have all the stuff of request, including Urd, Mjolnir 3, Lyr 3 if my (unfinished) assessment of the many boxes so far recieved.
The food is ordered.
Jason is being Chauffeured by one Alex Dydula and we are expecting a great day of music, headphone, conversation and cameraderie.

Our Venue, 79 Degrees West, is a brand new coworking, innovation and conference space about 3 minutes from highway 64. I'd recommend 64 if coming from the East.

Our single toll road in NC takes one directly from the airport to 64.

I hope to see you. If you haven't signed up, we'd appreciate an indication that you may show up.

Cheers
