Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Can the remote holder be made to accommodate the wider loki max remote? Love these....
The remote holder is just a simple design made in Fusion360, put through a slicer and printed on a 3D printer, it can be made to accommodate any remote and combination of remotes as long as you have exact size of the remotes you want to have in place.

Here is the final result I made for my Freya and Urd remote. The Freya remote is very lonely at the moment, but will be accompanied by the Urd remote on Monday.
Please remember this is not my idea. I just changed the 3 remote holder to 2 for my specific purpose.

Does it come in silver, brushed aluminum, 230 volt? Can I get it with a tube?
Any way you want.
I can mill it from a massive chunk of aluminium, just like modern audio gear.
Tubes can be a problem due to heat dissipation.

Very nice. Have you considered a flat "panel" that would hold multiple boards?

@Ripper2860 Thanks, I hope you enjoy the extended loan and the WAF improves...

@Paladin79 you ought to thank @Ripper2860 for the way way way way overdue delivery of whiskey. He has been politely and consistently pestering me for months about impressions and than delivery (on my offer) of the Ghorns... I couldn't send him the Ghorns without first sending you the booze....

My ZMF Auteur Classics arrive Monday, so now that @Paladin79 has sampled at least one bottle of hooch, I think I can blow off the Melz that've been collecting dust the past 1+ yr and see what the fuss is all about... Yggy OG with an Incubus + Melz and GE power tube should be a beautiful pairing with any HP.

@Ripper2860 yeah I likely have too much gear...but.........well..................

Ok, yeah I have too much gear. No apologies. No one is deprived of anything by my hobby. Family first, family second and all that.

On the other hand...Holy crap. I just did the math.....

I've been spending about 6 bucks a day on audio since Nov 2017.... part of me says that seems like alot.....But I guess I don't smoke, don't buy starbucks/dunkin/caribou, don't buy stuff at convenience stores, eat out about once every 2 weeks, and I just pay a yearly fee for streaming, no cd/download/new vinyl purchases...

Hobby, or addiction?
I suppose that makes sense.🤪 Thanks to both of you! Soon I will start on a couple things for you non-audio related. I made this for a neighbor and I am still setup for woodworking.A49CD45F-80BF-40F9-888D-B0287894366E.jpeg

I am in between refurbing receivers but I will get back into electronics after a thorough shop cleaning.😉

In all seriousness I need to make something like this out of a scrap of expensive hardwood.

It can certainly be done, I do not have multiple Schiit remotes in use but I have one for a Freya and six other devices in my downstairs. I may make one for an amp and transport remotes since I use those the most. Small brass plates could be used to name the gear.

Yes! Thanks for asking these questions so I didn't have to. 🤣

I have just ordered some speaker kits based on the old LS3/5 design.
Bought them from an excellent speaker specialist here in the UK called Wilmslow Audio.
https://wilmslowaudio.co.uk/stand-mounting-loudspeakers/wa-ls3-bookshelf-loudspeaker

The speakers will be used in my study and replace some tiny, powered Audio Engine ones.
Source is a trusty Logitech Squeezebox Touch and I bought a used Marantz integrated amp to drive them.
Possibly overkill for what is effectively my ‘third system’ but I expect it to sound pretty good.
My friend, the word "overkill" does not apply here. Every gentleman should have a fine sound system in their study (I would if I had a study!) for those times when we need to retreat from the hustle and bustle. My bedroom system has a pair of stand-mount monitors along with a pair of proper subwoofers, because fine audio should never be confined to one's 'main system.' :smiley_cat:

Well, I've been spending that on audio since about 1987, so you're either 1) way behind, or 2) way smarter. Likely both. 🤣

Which USB-c to UDB-c are Urd customers using?

I am running a 6ft MFI-compliant one and seems to work fine. Ordered this 4ft also MFI:

Dhaxipo USB 4 for Thunderbolt 4 Cable 4FT, 40 Gbps Data Transfer with 240W and 4K@144Hz 5K@ 60Hz or 8K@30Hz,Compatible with Thunderbolt 4/3 Cable and USB C,fit for Laptop,Docking,Monitor and More https://a.co/d/1RKqM8i
I am running an old Wireworld Ultraviolet USB audio cable with a plug adapter so I can use it with the USB 3 connector on the URD.

URD and YGGY are having a deliriously fun time making music together.

On average I am generally $3-$5,000 ahead each year in my involvement in audio gear, I like to stay busy and labor is involved. 😉 Right now I am happy with my audio systems so I have fewer goals to work towards.
