Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

LGB GT.jpgNerves suitably Jarred ???

Still have my late Dad's 1980 MGB sitting in the garage. Are those wheels Minilites?
These are great little cars. The problem is that with all the crazy drivers here in the United States
I'd prefer to drive a Humvee rather than something as small as an MGB. 😊

And because I'm a nerd and always grab the wrong remote...
You could make those and sell them. I know I'd buy one! I already have three Sch**t remotes and will probably end up with a couple more. One of those would be awesome!

Urd arrived a bit ago, wasted no time putting it into my system. I have the Urd connected via USB into a Bifrost 2 which is also fed via a Sonos Port streaming from Roon on a PC. The Bifrost 2 then feeds a Freya S -> Aegir -> Zu Omen Dirty Weekend. Initially the Urd did not want to see the Bifrost 2, but powering them both off and making sure to power on Bifrost 2 fully first resolved that. Playing Return of the Durutti Column now from Urd. Sounds lovely (as that album always does.)

Tonight I will settle in for some comparative listening, I think using the first two CDs I ever owned (Depeche Mode - Construction Time Again, which just has a visceral first few notes that are very revealing in their synthy goodness, and Donald Fagan - The Nightfly.) It will warp me back to 1984/5. Will report back on my impression of Urd vs. streaming once I have coherent thoughts.

Initial impressions of the Urd are highly favorable, it is solid, the silver finish matches the Freya S nearly flawlessly (and makes a perfect stack on the audio rack.) I just wish I could tell all the tiny Schiit icons apart and which remote is which. I think I may have to use a sharpie on the backs of them to identify them!

My first sports car was a 1968 B-GT, teal blue.

I'm happy to share the design with people and can print and send out for the price of materials and shipping. According to my slicer, I used $2.26 in PLA.

Suppose I could custom make other versions with no text with more or less slots for free for people interested. I made this goofing off and trying to learn Onshape better. It was fun. :)

(bold emphasis is mine)

"Asking someone to describe the sound of a CD transport feels a bit like asking a sommelier to describe the taste of a wine decanter, but careful listening does reveal, clear differences. When the digital stream is better, the sound gains focus and solidity; once you've heard it, it's impossible to ignore."

That tray bezel has a large gap on top and small one on bottom. QC should have caught that.
Camera angle perhaps ?

Maybe not nerd-ish. Just organizationally efficient. Unless,of course, pocket protectors are also in play.

Not that particular one lol.
Yep, I guess not ... a low yield area, because of the size of the plot. Yet, good quality

At $124 a bottle it's not exactly a snip !!
