Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

We have a simple system I always wanted to do: Syn, JBL 305s (x 5), and a Rhythmik 12L sub. For $1773 retail, it kills most surround systems.

Rythmik make great subs. I built my own unique cabinet for their F12G.

Just got my attic insulated. Told my wife it was so the cats had another room they could hang out in.

In reality I plan to turn it into a music listening room and cat play area. Can’t have it too hot up here. Need it cool for the future M3

Mini split coming soon

For the love of God, is there any news on the CD transport? It has been "coming soon" for like 3 years. I'm pretty sure I heard Jason say it was coming "probably in June" in one of the Schiiter videos, but here we are and nada. Also, does anyone know if it will output the DSD layer on SACDs?

Tonight's Syn-full song recommendation:

Roll Away The Stone...... Leon Russell
I don't have Syn but an artist that seems to be made for surround is Will Van Horn. Not everyone's cup-o-tea but they sound good on 2.0, should be cool on 5.0, 5.1 etc.

That is indeed a fascinating story. The Wrecking Crew was in LA so backed the Hollywood crowd on movie scores, too. I first discovered the story when I ran across the bassist Carol Kaye, who was in the Crew and played on numerous albums, including the Cannonball Adderley album "Big Man - The Legend of John Henry." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Kaye_discography

There was a similar group in Nashville, called the Nashville A-Team, who backed country singers in studio. My co-worker's uncle was a member of the A-Team ... his name was Grady Martin. When he got too old for session work, which is a bitch, Grady went on the road playing guitar for 10-years with Willie Nelson. Here is a picture of Grady (far left) at the Grand Ole Opry. On the fiddle is "Fiddlin' Chubby Wise."

The Cocaine and Rhinestones episode about the A Team is really great.

That was enjoyable! Reminds me a little of the Phil Keaggy/Tony levin/Jerry Marotta album Bucket List.

Thank you.

Dammit, I think you have to go all the way up-market to PS Audio to get a real SACD transport.
Urd to be release this month and there’s no reason for any company to sell a SACD transport at this point. It’s such a niche format that a company might as well set money on fire. I say this not as a hater (because I am devoted to, and really love, my surround SACDs) but as a realist. The best part is all you need is a nice multi-bit DAC and the Urd to enjoy the beauty of redbook.
