Yes, hence my comment about filterless NOS DACs. Not all of them employ the low pass (smoothing/reconstruction) filter. Schiit's DACs don't when in NOS mode, for example.

My last theory, Syn will be a Pioneer RG-1 for the 21st century. Process line level analog signals to remove noise, increase dynamic range, etc., then send to preamp.
