Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Simple: Freya Noval didn't sell, despite being the same preamp as Freya+ with 6N1P tubes. Get one now if you want one, it's a great deal. We won't be making any more, but of course you get full warranty and support.
Don't need one but man am i tempted, after getting a large stash of 6jd8/6n1p/6922's for Folkvangr, this could be fun at this price point. Can find exactly zero reviews, however. Anyone with experience or having compared to Freya+ out there? I think I need a nudge...

And then read the slide word for word without summarizing for the audience.
LOL! And in a monotone voice at 1/4 the speed that people can read it on the screen. Guaranteed to take all the power out of the point.

The Black Friday deals just keep on coming. Doesn't state whether they're NOS, but kinda hoping for at least the "new" part. 🤣

Has any one seen AudioGal? Perhaps she is locked in front of a laptop hitting "refresh" until this Schiit sale began...

ORT
No word from her for quite a while. I even made these mini radials since she likes Purple Heart wood.F3AB1A2F-4668-4B6C-9074-8974402D0EEB.jpeg

I am pretty much in the same boat, that of needing a nudge. I specifically want to know what difference tube-rolling can make in improving the sound of the Noval over the stock 6n1p tubes, but I cannot find much information about that on the Internet probably because the Noval has not been around for very long?

I've actually got one parked in the shopping cart as we speak, waiting to pull the trigger... I also have a good stack of 6922-type NOS tubes on hand... Oh well

Custom built by whom? I maintain a decent collection for spare tubes.
I built them!
VTA M125 monoblocks.
I bought them used and then rebuilt them.

How they started:

I still have the original chassis’ if someone wanted to take them back to stock.

Yep, tube compliment per amp is:
1 - 5AR4 rectifier
2 - 12AU7 driver tubes. I also use 12BH7.
4 - 6550/KT88/KT120 power tubes. Can also be run with just 2 power tubes each if you don’t need that much power. They also have triode mode at the flip of a switch.

Fine combinations, I own all except for the KT120’s. My main amp will go up to KT150’s but I have plenty of power with KT88’s.

A deal on Tyrs?! You're killing me!
Couldn't pull the trigger, so as a distraction, I'll go another direction:

I'm a sucker for "concerts attended" threads!

First show (outdoors, Oakland baseball stadium, Day On The Green) - Jeff Beck, Tower of Power, Santana, Journey. Yes they did a "jam" at the end with Beck, Santana, and Neal Schon, which was not especially memorable.

Second show (indoors, the Cow Palace) - ELO, Firefall, Steve Hillage. Entering the back of the floor, the volume, the lights, and Hillage with flowing hair and flowing robes playing "space rock". Made much more of an impression than the stadium show. ELO's lasers shining into the audience off a mirror ball and off the polished, amplified cellos was the full-on 70s arena-rock extravanganza!

First Grateful Dead show (out of ~150) - Winterland. "From Egypt With Love". Hamza el Din opened. Then the Nubians (more flowing robes) did some complex rhythmic clapping that seemed to take forever before the pattern repeated. We tried to clap along (I recall a quote by Mickey Hart: Only our audience could clap in 13/7). By the 2nd Dead set I thought to myself: This isn't a "regular" rock and roll concert!

Most embarrassed to have seen: Jason Mraz, 11 times! The wife's brief crush. Kinda kidding about being embarrassed, a few of the shows were excellent.

The full list of bands/artists seen would be fewer than some, more than many, perhaps not interesting to most. But, I did attempt to compile a list of guitarsts I've seen. Following the name is a "known for" comment, since many that are important to me aren't household names. No, I didn't see all those configurations, IE: I didn't see Beck with the Yardbirds or Clapton with Cream or Blind Faith or Derek and the Dominoes...
