Not copper coloured duct tape…?That way it'll match the transformer cover I painted. But please....it's copper particle paint. Cost is no object when it comes to my audio gear.

Thanks for the fine print I was about to ask if you were making heated seats next... but FV is kinda like a heater...Quick update: the new firmware for Bifrost 2/64 DOES also enable NOS mode for the current Bifrost 2.
So, I will be putting this up on the site later this evening, after Tyler and I have discussed the subscription pricing model for our new firmware update.
(Just kidding on the subscription pricing...just a little dig at the idiocy of some automobile companies. The firmware will be free.)

For schiits 'n' giggles you should have left off the "just kidding" part for a few hours.Quick update: the new firmware for Bifrost 2/64 DOES also enable NOS mode for the current Bifrost 2.

@Jason Stoddard, if I'm using HQ Player to feed my Bifrost 2 a 24 bit / 192kHz stream, will there be any difference between using NOS mode and not using NOS mode? My understanding is that if you feed the Bifrost 2 a 192kHz stream it doesn't oversample.Quick update: the new firmware for Bifrost 2/64 DOES also enable NOS mode for the current Bifrost 2.

On this thread it would have caused heart attacks. For schiits 'n' giggles you should have left off the "just kidding" part for a few hours.
I'm pretty sure that is not accurate. BF2 uses 8x oversampling. That is true for the Modi Mulltibit (4x oversampling) where anything above 176kHz (44.1x4) would be non-oversampled. Since Modi Mulitbit only supported up to 192kHz, that would mean 192kHz is the only non-OS sample rate. Not sure if original BF used 4x or 8x oversampling, but BF 2 definitely oversamples at all supported sample rates. My understanding is that if you feed the Bifrost 2 a 192kHz stream it doesn't oversample.

Also 100% accurate.Lets say you take music at I dunno, 16/44 and then up sample it before it hits your DAC, to avoid your DACs filter and get into "NOS" mode.... Are you really listening to the "NOS" capabilities of the DAC or are you just listening to how well your PC/Source/Software oversamples music...

So uh question/thought for the group.

Thanks! I used to have an OG Bifrost, so that must be why I was confused.I'm pretty sure that is not accurate. BF2 uses 8x oversampling.
