Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

If things get bad enough I will invest in one of @bcowen's inventions, the square hula hoop!
Oh. So I guess he gave up on the triangle-hoop, then. I thought that might be the case given 2 major concerns he expressed to me previously:

1) His inability to properly identify an equilateral triangle during flashcard drills while in college.
2) The 60 degree angles forming an equilateral triangle were too acute and would pinch his love handles when hooping.

I'm happy to hear he got it all sorted out. :smirk:

Agreed! Like the design team at Schiit, Bill has a uniquely american outlook on things. Consider his boomerang; why the hell would you want that thing hurtling back at you?

More of my work, just a chef’s knife, a gyuto. I am trying to make knife handles that compliment cutting boards.

This one is already promised and will remain one of a kind. I need to move on to building a small mandir (Hindu temple) for a friend and then I need to upgrade @bcowen's amp cabinet from cardboard to chipboard or such.

I will also be sending a gift to a long time buddy on here @Ripper2860. A set of mescal cups my wife made.

I am fine at this time but a new amp will need replacements for 14 tubes and a new DAC maybe 8. I will look around then.😜 I believe Bill said at one point he was going to stop buying tubes but the words kind of caught in his throat.

In the next few weeks I will be doing an upgrade on an amp I gifted Mr. Cowen just so he may jump in and help if I need 12AU7's and such. I have a wealth of 6sn7's and some power tubes but I have had little reason to own some types.
I bought twenty u7's that seem to be mostly well used 6 5963 type RCA labelled Beckman, 5 5963 type Sylvania labelled HP, 3 6189 type GE 3x mica and 2 Syl jan not to mention my regular stash of a half dozen total new production TS, Mullard, and a NOS pair of Syl 6189. I'll show you mine if you show me yours ...

Mixing horizontal and vertical stripes? @AudioGal must be cringing. (Only her, because none of the rest of us know you're not supposed to do that, Mrs. macdonjh had to tell me...)

How did they get an odd number of layers? I thought Damascus was made by folding and rehammering the steel.
