Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

A very real equalizer.
I have a smaller version but I am still not cutting a fine piece of hardwood down so I can add dovetail joints for an amplifier cabinet lol. I like the weight and stability of 3/4 inch wood, I will also use as much as 2.5 lbs of copper to provide a surface that is less likely to be affected by vibration since tube structure varies.

I use a wood planer to match thicknesses of various hardwoods.

Oops, of course. I knew that. As penance, I'll "check out the end of the flick" again, then skip back to the beginning and watch the whole thing.
Wasn't sure if you were testing us or it was a typo!

, or swill it when you want to get drunk and don't care about how you get there.
If that's your goal then vodka is a much more direct route than any beer. :)

I have Bryston's headphone amplifier - a solid piece of gear. Very neutral sound. Came with a 20-yr warranty :)
Which model?

I just realized that I have been using two of my 'phones with balanced cabling in for real "balanced output"...I can not discern any audible difference but I think they look cool so I will save for a Magnius for my self. And maybe a Modius so I can call it a "stack o' black Schiit".

If any body is looking for me, I shall be in Sheol for that one. It is not the heat but the humanity that will get to you there. :beerchug:

There's also a 6CG7 version that sounds very similar:
I don't have any interest in tubes. OTOH, I am very curious as to what the soup of letters mean that are associated with them.

Is it that the "tube" is the same and they designate connectors or other required information?

Was it Heddy or Hedley Lamar that invented the torpedo tracking system during WWII? :) (nod to @Ableza's torpedoing Canada story and Hedy ;-D)

Hedy's invention also known as frequency hopping sonar or something like that....

Numbering systems vary between countries but tubes made by different manufacturers in the US made specific tubes with similar specs so you know you can replace a 6SN7 with another 6SN7. Some other types may be close enough in specs to be used in place of a 6SN7 for example.

That is a dual triode tube, you can use two single triodes in place of it with proper adapter, if compatible.

There were pin types like loctal/loktals that can be used for a 6sn7 with adapter. I am using two single triode tubes to replace a dual triode in this photo, gain is the same.6j5 in incubus.jpg Tubes also varied in glass shape.

Oh and first number or numbers is filament voltage.

It was Hedy. "A beautiful woman is beautiful woman, but a beautiful woman with a brain is an absolutely lethal combination".

Yep. I've had mine for years now :)
Through friends I have access to a lot of different equipment. All the pieces but one for our Bosch tv show setup till I located the turntable.

Today I am but a humble knife maker, working on a black limba handle while Finnegan watches. Very early stages.18277FF8-B110-4F30-98C0-F436F5AFDA6E.jpegCF92167C-4E57-47DF-B44E-5B9611C3A296.jpeg
