Very happy to learn there’s some light at the end of the tunnel on my Yggdrasil back order! :L3000:

But by that time, Freya S should be back on-line, so a large balanced preamp will also be an option again.

Is there any possibility the Saga S would be put back in production?

I would love a passive preamp with a remote and don't need balanced.

The Saga S is supposed to get a limited rerun too. When Schiit found unused Freya S chassis pieces, they also found Saga S parts. I'm not sure when and how many, but a Saga S should appear later this year.

Hey all,

No chapter this week, but here's another update: I'm back in Valencia for a while, since Corpus is running so smoothly. It's going so well there that we're moving the final small product--Mani--there on the next run. We're also accelerating production of all small units, so backorders on any of the "small stacks" should be in the rearview mirror soon. Yeah, I know, Modi Multibit still drags, but we're working on that. With four PCB assembly houses (and soon a 5th), the bottleneck in PCBs is broken.

The even better news is that this bottleneck applies to Valencia as well, and soon some of the oldest-in-backorder products will be shipping. Yes, even Gungnir and Yggdrasil. And some new products are on the line--again, don't get too excited, this means we still have to do first articles, approve them, etc. And our metal guys are really stepping up...heck, they haven't been a limiting factor for some time.

In short, everything is finally falling into place. It took a few months longer than I expected, but I'm hoping to have supply issues largely worked out by Fall. We'll see.

The only real sticking point is 6SN7 tubes. I know we are tube-limited on Freya+, hence the ability to buy Freya+ without tubes. Don't be surprised if that becomes the only option in a couple of months, and if that shortage persists for a couple of months. And yes, I know, that might be profoundly frustrating. But by that time, Freya S should be back on-line, so a large balanced preamp will also be an option again.

More soon!

All the best,
Jason
There are still plenty of matched quad 6sn7's around if you look for them. An individual who buys a Freya + without tubes can search Ebay for new matched quads or matched pairs. Often you will find new Tung Sol (Russian made), Psvane, and even Sylvanias. It is easier to look for matched pairs and I mostly run combinations of those in my Freya +. Quads of Melz 1578's are overkill for me so I may run a pair of those with other brands to shape the sound to my liking. Some of the quads can be in the $400 range but some are priced more like these.

The 6FQ7/6CG7 is a nine pin miniature version of the 6SN7. There are adapters that allow you to use the 6FQ7/6CG7 in your 6SN7 gear. There is currently NOS and new 6FQ7/6CG7 production stock available, but not as much as there was a few years ago. Anyone noticing a trend here?
