To elaborate a little more: this SchiitShow is an experiment. I blathered about needing more (and different) shows in a previous chapter, and this is our way of saying:
1. We were too late to hit the Bay Area CanJam for these new product intros.
2. The London CanJam would be great, but my appetite for travel this year is being consumed by other things (don't expect to see much of me at RMAF, for example, if I'm there at all...though Mike will be.)
3. The one show we could hit is CAS, which is too speaker/2-channel-biased to be a good venue for this intro. This doesn't mean we won't do 2-channel shows in the future, but we'll simply bring 2-channel products to them.
So, why not try our own show? I have to thank Warren (Cee Tee) for suggesting it, as I was angsting about our inability to hit either TheShow or the Bay Area CanJam, when we were at Irvine.
How will it go? We'll have to see. Maybe this will become a regular thing (as in, once a year)...but I suspect it won't. Simply because we never really know when products will be ready to ship. Especially when the goal is to actually have stock on shelves so you can order immediately. (Please note that this is still a goal, not a reality, though we are looking good on 2 of the 3 products.) It gets even crazier when you consider the logistics inherent in one of the product intros, which go far beyond just shipping something. You'll see what I mean at the show.
But I really doubt if this will be a regular thing. Instead, next year, we'll concentrate first on being at more shows (not so California-centric) and on having the appropriate products at each show (headphone or speaker/2-channel).
So look at this as an experiment, and (if you can come), let us know what you think!
