Perfect. Just looking at Amazon now for some. You should at least link to some in the FAQ if you don't actually sell them (like the PYST cables). I have previously researched add-on boom mics for high quality audio headphones so I will report back on what I get working later.

Sweet! That was hard to tell from the pictures, I couldn’t find it in the specs, and the manual’s reference to an included “1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter” isn’t clear to me since I read it as “convert your 1/4 inch plug to a 1/8 inch plug.” :sweat_smile:

lol... why, yes, I own many, but only because I know in some form factors (portable, battery powered, for instance), a 1/4” jack makes less sense, but I would find a desktop solution with an 1/8” output to be a compromise I wouldn’t like.

As it turns out, while Fulla 3 went the 1/8” route, Hel actually has a 1/4” output, and I was just confused by the lack of mention of that in the specs and the picture was slightly ambiguous to me, and the manual didn’t clarify it entirely either.

OK-- just ordered a boom mic and 3.5mm to L/R RCA adapters on Amazon and the Hel. I will provide a review and some pictures of the setup here later.

Basically, it will be about adding the boom mic to the headphones, connecting to the Hel, then connecting the Hel to the Vali 2 via the 3.5mm to L/R RCA preamp out, and updating you on the user experience and sound quality.

The Hel is very intriguing as a kind of unique offering, but that Asgard 3 is what really impresses me, it's insanely great that you can get a powerful amp for single-ended headphone out (3.5mW @ 32 Ohm and even 500 mW of class A?!) with a built-in multi-bit DAC for $399?!

According to the manual online, only the Hel, the 2.1A wall adapter and two micro-USB to USB (Type A, normal) cables, and a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter are included.

A shame the HEL doesn't have an optical input. That would've been ACES for those of us who do like our virtual surround dsps being sent from other devices. I mean, sure they can send that out from pre-outs, but then we don't get the Schiit's internal DAC working its magic.

Other than that, looks like a banger for those who don't use dsps and play in regular stereo, which I admit to being most people. And it's not like windows doesn't have Dolby Atmos functionality, though it's something I personally don't think works as well as it should. YMMV.

This is something I'll glady tell people asking me about dac/amps for normal stereo play to look into.

Glad you guys are branching out this far.

...still not gonna do stat amps, surround processors, headphones, or MQA, though....

Hey Jason! Hel looks pretty awesome. I did notice on the Fulla 3 page, there's still one case of the text saying "Fulla 2":

Total Flexibility for Gaming and Music
Fulla 2 is a complete DAC/Amp…
