I've owned Bifrost Uber>Bimby>Gen 5 Bimby, Asgard 2, Yggy, Jot, and now Lyr 3. Sold Asgard 2 when I got Jot. Bimby and Jot gifted to daughter. All good and enjoyable. But Yggy and Lyr 3 have a je ne sais quoi that makes hard to imagine parting with them. I thought I had a very good headphone system, but the Lyr 3 is showing me tonight the difference between being clear and being convincing.

Honestly. Makes lots of sense. The Yggy and Lyr 3 sounds like an excellent combination. While I think it is great that the Lyr 3 can take modules it may be distracting from the fact that the Lyr 3 is just an excellent headphone amp and is really worthy of a true dedicated DAC. If I get a Lyr 3 I would opt. for the phonostage. Already have a Bimby with an Asgard 2.

Actually using the Lyr 3 with a non-Schiit DAC, the Holo Spring KTE 3. The Yggy is downstairs in my speaker system. I just meant that both Lyr 3 and Yggy add something really special to their systems. I'll be very curious to hear how the Yggy changes after it is upgraded to Analog 2 (sitting at 87 in the upgrade queue), and may then get a second Yggy to replace the Spring.

Got it. By the way I just purchased a new Yggy upgrading from a Bimby. Have not compared to old Yggy but I am enthralled with what the Yddgrasil has done to my system. Tone of acoustic instruments is what I have considered the biggest weakness with digital and the Yggy really gets this right and closes the gap with my analog rig considerably on properly mastered digital.
It actually has a few inches it is mostly the angle. I am going to play with the spacing when I can and see how it goes. I don't drive vidar that hard.
Not doing bad. This is after everything being on overnight and over an hour of music at my average listening level, which isn't all that loud overall. Yggy is sitting around 95°F, Vidar is right around 100°F, and the hot spots up top are the octal LISST sitting at 122°F.

Sorry, a bit off topic. How do you like your Seek Thermal camera? At some point I wanted to buy FLIR but never did because of various reasons. By the way, Seek Thermal cameras are designed and manufactured in California, USA, just like Schiit products.
