Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

@Ripper2860 Oh, you really must give Warren another go. Absolutely stellar songwriter and I think all of his albums are solid (some of them spectacular) and they have at least one or two exceptional songs on each. I love his lyrics and his acerbic wit. Excitable Boy is close to being one of my desert island discs!

Okay, after a brutal afternoon of call, and kindness by one of my team members to give me a couple hours respite while he covers the pager, I've decided on a cocktail to enjoy on the patio during this warmest day of the year so far in Minnesota. May I present what my friends and I call A Clockwork Orange. Don't ask me how we came up with the moniker nor how our core group of five buddies (from junior high to the present day) came up with this exact mix of ingredients, but I've never found it online as such. It's neither the Moloko Plus cocktail famous in the movie, nor is it like either the cognac or absinthe based cocktails I've seen. As far as I can tell it's something we put together or at least stole from somewhere and none of us now can remember where. Anyway, it's 2 oz of Maker's Mark bourbon (or your personal fave), 1 oz Licor 43 liqueur, ½ to ¾ oz fresh lemon juice (freshly squeezed orange juice is fine too), ¼ to ½ oz simple syrup (vary the previous two ingredients according to how sour or sweet you'd like the drink), 2 dashes of orange bitters, garnished with an orange slice caramelized from a kitchen torch. Fill a rocks glass with ice. In a mixer, add the bourbon, Licor 43, lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters. Fill it with ice and stir for 20 seconds or until well chilled. Caramelize your orange peel with the kitchen torch. Strain into your prepared glass and twist and add the burnt peel. Skol!

Hope you all are having a pleasant weekend.

After pages of reading I was ready to mention Werewolves of London. Yes, over saturated on the radio but the lyrics are still terribly clever.

Of course my bias is that I’m a huge fan of the Grateful Dead’s cover of that gem. The culmination of this cover occurred in London on Halloween 🎃 night in 1990 with a rousing version of the Zevon classic for the London faithful.
Now I'm thinking about this...

Sort of a whiskey sour with 43 added... sounds great. I am never without 43 in my arsenal. It's the perfect digestif when you've overdone the food a bit.

Wow, the whole post was meant to be humorous. I thought people got that. I'm pretty sure that I did not offend Timster.
Most of us got the humor. :beerchug:
Unbelievable how many words you have to share! Lol! Next progressive rock suggestion.... The Division Bell. Sounds great through the Schiit I own and Khorns. Z
I'm going to buck what I perceive to be a trend here and state that "The Division Bell" is Pink Floyd's best album.
(Apologies to @Ableza who I suspect believes there is no good PF album. Or Rush. Or...)

I listen to Division Bell as much as Dark Side of the Moon. 🤪 Enjoy what you enjoy, your audio system, your life.

I suspect it will take more than that to offend our Aussie forum friend.

Pink Floyd's catalog is varied enough that there's always something interesting in there that I haven't heard in a while. My favorite of theirs remains Wish You Were Here, but the last three I've listened to have been Relics, Animals, and Ummagumma.

@DDRPDXCLB Thanks for the Scolohofo recommendation, btw. Can't believe I've missed it until now given how much I dig all four of the musicians in that group.

I really like Division Bell, to the point where it might actually be my favorite PF album.
Favorite track, High Hopes.😜

Seems apropos as the Pacers close out the Knicks.
A very rough game but very balanced scoring by the Pacers. OKC is very good so it will be a tough finals. Two former IU players did well for both sides.

@Paladin79 Since my son goes to Iowa State let's just say he's a bit partial to Tyrese.
