Burgers 'n Brisket.
Sounds like either a good name for a beef joint or good name for a yacht rock band.

The whiskeys are a genuinely fine thank you. The thought of you having a capability for two tables with the Stjarna and only using one made it a no brainer for me.BTW, I wanted to mention that @Paladin79's renovated turntable and custom Rosewood headshell is in the house. Woot, woot! Work commitments this week are keeping me from setting it up for a few days unfortunately, but photos will be forthcoming next week. Beautiful work as always, Tom. Thank you so much! The whiskeys seem like a paltry return in comparison, but I hope you continue to enjoy them nonetheless.
If one must take OTC pain meds, smaller doses of ibuprofen are a little more compatible with imbibing… but mixing such pain killers is well known to be bad for ones liver. As I always say -- Live fast. Die young. Leave a moderately attractive (yet invisible to 18 -26 year old women) corpse.
** Seriously -- do not equate my self-deprecating humor in posts with me IRL. While my posts may lead some to think that I imbibe a bit much, the reality is that I rarely take Tylenol.![]()
The turntable does not like your taste in music, so it blew a fuse. No diagnostic fee this time.It is not the main PCB fuse. It is the power supply fuse on the small board near the transformer. It blew again as soon as I moved the tone arm to the platter and the platter startup micro-switch was pressed. Speed LEDs lit up, platter started to turn, and then poof. No smell.
Thanks.

Haven't heard either of these, but this post gave me the kick in the pants to hook up the saga s that I bought for a future system when they were on close out. I have a node , to Urd USB hub , Modi 3, Saga s , and Tyrs. I put on Jerry Douglas - the Set ... I thought the guitars and stand up bass were better defined than with my older Nakamichi pre amp. I've been listening to recordings that I'm familiar with and Saga is staying in the chain. Saga 2 is supposed to be an improvement. Kara was (is?) on my want list, but a different DAC is next. I kinda want to see what this Bggy deal is going to be like . Please excuse the cables that are showing after the swap.Saga 2 vs Kara? Not the differences on paper (price, balanced, nexus, etc) but for those who have heard them both - what did you think? What did you hear? What did you prefer?
I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that.![]()
I am still loving the Freya + and it takes four 6SN7’s, I doubt I will ever hear a Kara. I am very happy with my preamps.Haven't heard either of these, but this post gave me the kick in the pants to hook up the saga s that I bought for a future system when they were on close out. Luxury! Every time my wife is awake she points out stuff that needs to be done.Everytime she goes out on the back patio she points out stuff that needs to be done...
Yeah... I've been hesitant to take the jump into tubes, but you guys raving about Freya have been tempting me.I am still loving the Freya + and it takes four 6SN7’s, I doubt I will ever hear a Kara. I am very happy with my preamps.![]()
