Actually, come to think of it I have yet to make an itemized list of my audio gear and headphones in case I ever need to make an insurance claim. I probably should work on that. 😅

Hopefully your insurance covers 100% of the value of those items.
Oh it will.😉 Now the large trees I lost are another matter, but I know people. Tree people.🤪

My greatest fear is that after I die my wife will sell my audio and camera stuff for what I told her I paid for it. 😯

That's nothing. Wait until she finds out what you spent on the Barbies. :astonished:

Actually, she gifted them to me so I'd stay busy and out of her hair. 😜

We used “professional” movers in our 2018 move to Texas… filled a complete 53’ trailer. A disturbingly high number of the items THEY packed and moved were damaged/destroyed. NONE that I packed and moved (in the Uhaul towing one of our vehicles) were damaged. We also lost multiple items. That move cost a bit over $30,000.00

Moving back, I did ALL my own packing (into a series of ultimately 4 PODS; with the most important/delicate “remainders” being packed by me onto a Uhaul… I only had one bookshelf get destroyed. The Pods were around $10K, all-in.

Other’s experience may vary, but… no matter what MOVING sucks.
That move cost a bit over $30,000.00 ....... Did you have $30,000.00 worth of items to move. Asking because: I move a lot of items into storage for customers. After a month or two, the storage fees cost more then what the items are worth. I know people that give their stuff away because it is cheaper to buy again when they move.

We donated a great deal of stuff based on exactly these calculations.
