Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Well, no. It's "0. Must be good sounding."
It's point '0' because it's our Prime Directive and because it's so obvious that it doesn't need to be mentioned. It's implied in everything we do.

Then #6 - It's gotta look good. 😉

Burn racks on Tuesday night.
There are few things in our mortal existence that are more appealing and desirous than a multitude of glowing tubes.

Yup, Happy Friday it already is indeed! Shame I'm still working, but only a few hours remain :relaxed:

It's such a nice day here, maybe I should move the car to improve the view from the office chair.

Great setup and nice yard! Looks comfy

For the last18 there has been a farm back there. Literally corn and a couple other crops. Farmers retired. They are about to start building the houses behind us in the next couple weeks. The angle of the picture shows the retention pond.

My kids used to run around naked in the backyard when they were still in diapers. Hope the neighbors don't mind me grilling and smoking naked. 😀

Seriously, it's super quiet and the new neighborhood is a 55+. I could just about live there except the houses started at $650k then association fees. ( no thank you on the price and the HOA).

And to bring this back to Schiit, the power switch is on the back.

Naturally there are plenty of Thorens tables that were early belt drive but this is is a great example of Japanese manual belt drive tables.🤪 This uses a fairly wide belt by modern standards and the speed is pretty much spot on.

While I like modern tables it is fun for me to do a bit of audio Archeology. Listening to Creedence from late 60’s to early 70’s now. Rather than purchasing seven albums, their greatest hits are on two vinyl records.
Rather than purchasing seven albums, their greatest hits are on two vinyl records. ....... Not telling you to purchase 7 albums, but there is a lot of great CCR that is not greatest hits.

Bonnie Raitt can do no wrong IMO. 🤠
Bonnie and Emmylou with Lowell on the Midnight Special from 1977. I love how young and awkward Emmylou appears.

I hate how young Lowell checked out. Food is definitely a drug.

Since we are talking about the cos of digital manipulation of sound (volume). let me ask the realted question...

1. Is any one using the OPRA capability with Roon (for HP EQ)?
2. What is your experience and any pros/cons)?
I had manually entered the oratory EQ for my Sendys. What a pain. OPRA is push button. Loved it! It did make my headphones quieter.

In coda to #6: in both silver and black!

I'm surprised this crowd didn't start arguing over discussing which looked more "delicious."

Yeah. Eldest is looking at maybe buying in D.C. as the latest shenanigans are causing a major price fall in that area.
There, some places have HOA and some have COOP fees. Saw one property listed with a >$1,000/month COOP fee. Yikes!

And the whole coop underlying mortgage thing completely baffles me.

Looks matter. Of course they're subjective but to date I have not seen anything made by Schiit that is unattractive enough to state that I would not subject myself to owning it. And that is not damning their line with faint praise but rather lifting it up with honesty.

Their equipment has a familiar look to it and in the case of Schiit, familiarity breeds not contempt but rather contentment.

Was down the beach for a swim with the dog yesterday arvo thinking "ya wouldn't be dead for quids."
