Also, if you are interested in Alternative Country music, check out the (sadly now defunct) band 16 Horsepower, which I like to call Goth Country.
My feelings precisely. Although now and then a little Dwight Yokum Bakersfield swing is enjoyable.
I'm a Lyle Lovett fan, although his music tends to cross genres at times.
Because our house sold whilst we were in Europe, we had very little time to declutter, or dispose of things as we would have preferred. Many furniture items are on consignment in NC. Some things that were intended for sale were donated. One guy "bought" our dining set - an 86" glass table with six stainless steel chairs. He arrived in a LR Discovery and when I expressed doubts about getting in even the table he remained optimistic. It was not to be. Even though we advertised it at 1/10th of the current retail it went to the local charity shop. Over 2000 books to the Chapel Hill library. I held on to my naval history and aviation rare books (so rare the specialist who came to assess said it would take him a couple of years to move them). Ditto for art. Som many Kickstarter projects that were on the build list. Gone to STEM homes in NC.That is a very recent gift from my son. While we spent a week listening to records together on the new system over his spring break, I mentioned to him that I thought a record stand would be cool on top of the subwoofer. Two weeks after he returned to school, I found a package on my doorstep. He had researched online and found one he thought I'd like and bought it for me. Made his old man very happy.
Yeah, I know a couple of other miscreants besides me on here--in particular, one in Texas and another in Oklahoma--who have Tekton Design speakers, so I guess I fit right in.While they might not be Sonus Fabers, Tom, I think they sound quite good.

Actually I'm glad to hear that you kept them. I think they are superb speakers, and it is a little disheartening when folks try to run the price down because they know your situation, isn't it? I'm certain they'll find a happy home in Oregon. But to the point, my Double Impacts I couldn't part with for silly money, or donate. So they are in the Pod and will, hopefully, impress folks in OR. If not, they will continue to impress me, along with Tyrs and Freya+
Kinda like Texas' Safeway. What the hell is H-E-B?
Sorry, but I'm from Northern California.

Bobby Bare Jr. (especially his albums with Young Criminals Starvation League) and Ray Wylie Hubbard (Snake Farm among others) are two of my favorites in this area. Saw Hayes Carl once in concert in Portland, was horribly disappointed (he was too drunk to keep a tune or stay close to in tune - truly painful) - that said, I like a lot of his music. I assume it was just an off night!Hayes Carl.
OK. Thanks.Kinda like Texas' Safeway.
