A fun night was had and now it is time for tunes. ;)

Happy Birthday and keep recommending the tunes. I’ve discovered and enjoyed new music from your posts!

Sounds like you have great friends and family! Cheers:tropical_drink:

"The hat's up here, pal!" 🤣
I had a card partner tell me something similar once lol. I would have to share her photo privately. She was joking of course, I was looking to see how she arranged her cards, it was a semi-serious tournament 😜

You catching any of the winter storm? Still just rain here.
Now saying 12. ‘…. But only started an hour ago so who knows?

Tunes, wood stove, and adult bevies make alles Gut, für diesen Schiitizen! Auch, mein Hund. Bismarck von W.

Wood stove has the main kitchen/keeping room up to 68F, the hall and Dining room 76F, and the bedroom 66F… 2100 square feet… two armloads over last 6 hours. It’s 20F outside, with increasing winds (as expected). Got 8 days worth of generator propane. 1 1/3 cord of split wood (out of 2 to start in November). So, relatively set. Expecting tonight’s 10-12”, then Wednesday another 8” or so, respite Thursday, and then another 12” on Saturday/Sunday. It’s the “winter train” (of snow). Once one is prepared, it’s not so bad; life definitely slows the heck down.

Tomorrow’s big challenge, getting to my local dairy for our weekly milk and cream. (3 miles, but there is a “pass” of 1100’ on the way; our town is Tri-sected by an 1100-2000’ ridge - I’m on the Eastish-facing downslope (or upslope in Nor’easters!) side of the 2K ridge). Lots of orthographic related local weather which is fascinating. The entire town is a head-water for watersheds in all directions (nothing doesn’t start here, if that makes any sense).

It’s why on a quiet evening, my listening room is below 30dBa; well below. (I *do* have to turn off the humidifier). And that is when LP’s shine! I’m really jones’ing for Stjarna at this point, though to be fair, Skoll is more than excellent.

(Thank God for Fiber to my modem internet, making living this “remote” feasible in every dimension).

Yep…. Lots. (And I spent the first 13 year of my life in Michigan-lake-effect-snowmaggeddon). It’s just snow. PITA? Yes, sometimes. Mostly, “yawn, keeps the riff/raff down”

Random tale / factoid:

While remastering the three digital recordings of Karajan's Bruckner Sym. 1-3 for the Original Source vinyl release [Those three were recorded in the earliest days of digital recording on an inferior-sounding 3M PCM digital tape recorder because it retained multi-track capabilities, something Karajan was dead-set on; and this before CDs were even a thing!] the duo at Emil Berliner Studios -- seen in @ArmchairPhilosopher's recent YouTube post -- used Karajan's old vintage tube mixer from the 60s to help fix the digital harshness that was inherent in those digital tapes. Apparently, these vinyl remasters of those three symphonies sound fantastic, something that had never been said before about those recordings. TUBES SAVED THE DAY!!!
