Freeze warning tonight so our pet ground hog (Bill Cowen II) is out foraging for food. I just installed a storm door in a cat patio to keep out the cold. Fortunately the sun roof should bring in some warmth.

When you're a CG artist, you can't go see a blockbuster movie anymore without seeing all the mistakes the effects team has made, all the corners they cut, no matter how good the movie otherwise is.
When you're a car designer, you can't look at a car's shape without seeing all the lines and curves that don't flow just right, no matter how good the car otherwise looks.
And when you're a software engineer with a long history in UI and UX on mobile and desktop, you can't look at a piece of software anymore without seeing all the little issues and untapped potential, no matter how good the software otherwise is.
If you're a recovering graphic designer, you also cannot unsee the kerning mistakes that are literally EVERY ****ING WHERE. Hint, assholes: when you're trying to copy a silent movie title/dialogue slide, don't rely on Adobe to kern it. Also maybe pay someone to hand-letter it for real. Also almost every Netflix show: seriously, pay someone (or just give them credit) to look at all your kerning. If you aren't going to do a show the right way (no title, no intro), then at least make it so I don't want to yell at the screen.

Edit: back to work for me!

I definitely feel Jason is a man of the people.

I do very high end residential construction. I can’t go to anyone’s home, especially a newer home, and not see what a sh¡t-box it is, at least anyone with a middle class home.

Well he is within ten yards of my buried cache.

Oh yeah the other day I mentioned a family favorite, Italian beef sandwiches. They look like this once the provolone is melted over the top. Always served with red wine and ruffled potato chips. 🤪IMG_8507.jpeg

Looks wonderful, especially with a stout Cabernet sovignon.

I could have used some wine with the cheesesteak I had for lunch today. Johnny’s in Bryn Mawr, seeded roll, ribeye, onions & cooper sharp.
