Don't recall anything ever said about Yggy....yet.

That's where I'm getting confused.  People are talking as if there is a Yggy review by Stereophile, but I haven't seen one yet.

Have you got the latest issue?

I haven't bought a paper magazine in years.

I still get it in the mail, as long as it works out to $1.00 an issue why not, and Feb. has not arrived yet. Love seeing the Schiit adds as they appear gotta be making someone sweat.

Switching gears...anybody here compare the Mani to similar phono stages..Lounge Audio, Haggerman Labs, Pro-Ject, iFi et?

I've compared the Mani to a Fi Yph, Hagerman Cornet 3, Audio Technica AT-PEQ3, and a Yaqin something.

All of those except the Audio Technica are tube-based, which is a real apples vs oranges comparison.

Michael Fremer liked the Audio Technica and the Mani is better than the Audio Technica in every respect.

Interesting, thank you.

I know Fremer loved the iFi and the U Turn Pluto the best in their price ranges.

February issue, I get electronic subscription on iPad, a whole year costs me less than one (2 month old) magazine from the newsagent - so I don't care if it contains a lot of ... , worth it to me, for entertainment value.

I do like the sound of it better than the Emotiva XSP-1. I hear you can take it up a notch by getting a better power supply. there is a power supply that people are buying on eBay for the Mani.

they are out of stock .

Instead of spending over  $100 on a new transformer [after all, 14VAC is a transformer], buy the Schiit 14V 1.5A wall-wart for $15. It is much better than the stock 16V 0.5A wart that comes with Mani, and Schiit says it will work. I substituted the beefier wart for the stock unit on a Modi 2 Uber, and got better sound. It is probably due to the greater current capacity and lower source impedance of the larger wall wart. Besides, for $15 it is worth the time to try it before dumping >$100.

If that's a Mpingo Disc I'm going to laugh my ass off.

I googled this MPINGO disk . LOLOLOLOLOL. it is a circle of wood which has a "unique property to regulate the resonance of any sonic component and its transmission. "

And Once you Place this wooden Disk on your gear   "... listen for the wonderful change in you Hi Fi system, When his disc is excited by any external acoustic energy, it will resonate throughout the entire audible spectrum, thus overriding unwanted harmonic distortions and at the same enriching the musical reproduction."

I am going to dig through My pile of Fire wood for the perfect Piece to sit on my Valhalla 2.
