Yep, I've been bitten by inaccurate statements on their website too. They have a serious history of backorders. I'm really starting to wonder what gives. Find it very unlikely to be demand. This is a pretty niche market.

Current backorders are due to parts shortage for USB gen 5....

Apologies, but from what I understand, a usb port part has now been causing delays for nearly 5 months. Is that right?

Yes. More specifically, the printed circuit boards containing the Generation 5 USB implementation have not been in stock and Schiit says there is a widespread issue with parts, and so their "board house" supplier has been delayed in making the boards.

In my case, it took exactly 5 months for them to have the Gen 5 board shipped to me for self-install in my Bimby.Like stated in other posts in this thread, its this part that cause the delay, but i wouldnt say 5 months. I think i waited 2 months to recieve my bimby...
I actually feel for them to be honest. Using the same parts across their range surely provides many cost saving to us as consumers but does unfortunately present the risk of inventory wide backorders if something goes amiss. The USB gen5 is far and away the best implementation I've tried sub $1000, I honestly don't think we'd be baulking at the price if it was 2x or 3x the cost.
