I just learned of those patches from the link listed earlier in this thread. I haven't tried the "Progweed" build.

Note Progweed's discussion starting with Post #22. It seems the font improvement patch is automatically included in any version after Rockbox 3.8. I guess it isn't a patch any longer. In post #34 he has some utility for anti-aliasing windows fonts. I guess the font improvement is about anti-aliasing but I haven't looking into it more than that thread.

I guess it is mostly for problems with the Clip+.
One person seems to be using it for the Fuze v2 so maybe there is an issue on the fuze too but it may mess up the MicroSD function a bit.

There's also supposed to be a Meier crossfeed v3 patch.
I don't use crossfeed but those could be interesting.
 
And then there's a the silly Doom scrollwheel patch which is totally irrelevant to me but maybe you'd like it.
 
It's nice you have taken the time to learn to roll your own rockbox build. Then you can make your own current version of Rockbox with whatever patches you want.
I'll need to learn to do that one day!

I did see that progweed build but I didn't notice the update later on.  I think I would hold off on that patch until I actually see an issue with the database, because right now it's working fine for me.  I also don't ever use crossfeed either, maybe I'll include it the next time I find a reason to build but for right now I don't need it.  Same goes for doom, since I never use it.

So I tested the Fuze v1/v2 line-out through my Griffin dock vs. headphone out directly from the Fuze. Both the Fuze v1 and v2 had the same results. There's a LOT more noise through the Griffin line-out. It is very clear if I turn up the volume on my amp with no music playing. If I go through the headphone out, there is no noise. I'm assuming this is caused by crappy capacitors in the Griffin dock but I have no other way to get a line out to test. Also setting the volume to "Zero" on the Fuze with headphone out doesn't clip the audio in my amp but using line-out does. It actually seems like the line-out is the same volume as the headphone out with volume set to +6 on the Fuze. The line-out is too hot. When going line-out through Official Sansa Firmware, it is even hotter and completely distorts my amp. So I'm definitely sticking with headphone out from now on which has the added benefit of easily controlling the volume. I also don't have to worry about the Line-out setting/patch on the Fuze v2.
 
My advice to anyone using the Sansa Fuze v1 or v2, skip the line out altogether and use the clean headphone out when going to an amp. Thanks thegr8brain for bringing this to my attention.

As far as the PIO mode USB driver for the Fuze v2. It works well with Windows 7 64bit. The only problem is that if the Fuze is off when plugging it in, it always goes to the official firmware instead of USB or charging mode in Rockbox firmware. I'll report this on the rockbox bug tracker.

The line-out on Fuze, IIRC, is smaller than an iPod' line-out. Your amp must clip fairly easily..

I tried to check for the SQ with the OF and RB back-to-back with my Grado SR60i. I really think the RB sounds better. I feel it is "driving" the headphones better. I hear more punch to the bass and bite to the treble.Pl. confirm for or otherwise. (this is with release version 3.9).
I am still not clear whether we have a final verdict on whether Line-out is usable/good on the Fuse V2 or not. I am planning on getting a LOD for a not so small amount ($45). Appreciate further feedback on "ILikeHeadphones" findings.

There is a "non official" released rockbox build (r29344M-110419) with the patch mentioned earlier that allows to switch between LO and HO with Fuze v2. It works for me, if anyone's interested in installing this version and who's already experienced in installing rockbox on the Fuze  they can send me a pm. and I can give a download link and a very brief installing guide.
