I get around 8-9 hours with Q -0.8 (~256 VBR) OGG Vorbis files, but I stick it on shuffle and skip through half the songs. Battery life doesn't seem to take a hit by playing files off a Micro SD card instead of the internal memory.

did you rockbox your clip+? and still get gapless troubles?  this takes me a few years back, but i remember that i solved it by ripping the few troubled CDs again and making sure i did use the most common settings and codec.

and the clip+ is the very best money/quality you ll ever get. you should all get 1 even if just as a back up dap.
but nobody said it was a perfect player. you can find around 1billion posts on the forum about the ups and downs of the sansas.

Pretty hard to find fault with my Clip+

The battery life seems just a little short to me but I did buy it second hand.

Is there any leakage? I mean does it discharge on its own?

The Fuze+ sounds the same as the Clip+, however the Fuze+ has very frustrating controls. Most will tell you to avoid the Fuze+ and get the Clip+.

The Clip+ gets longest battery life with mp3 files. With mp3 files expect around 12 hours if you keep the screen brightness and duration low, and don't use the equilizer. playing albums straight through rather than searching for individual songs will maximize battery life.

Does Sansa Clip Zip had the similar sound signature like Sansa Clip Plus?
If no, which one sound better ?

The Clip Zip sounds the same as the Clip+. Battery life is also around the same. The Clip Zip differes in that it shows album art and supports AAC files(although this still has some quirks). The Clip Zip also has a clock and stopwatch, as well as RDS radio(the radio on the Clip+ doesn't display song and station data). The Clip+ displays more song data than the Clip zip(assuming you don't use Rockbox). The Clip zip has a low resolution color screen, while the screen on the Clip+ is higher contrast two toned. When the Clip Zip came out I decided not to buy it, and bought an extra Clip+ instead.
