Thanks Artpiggo for your listening impressions. Looks like I'll hold on to the Nex S for its audio quality. Hopefully, the next Vivo flagship maintains or surpasses the Nex S in audio!

Or just use with a great LDAC BT DAC/AMP such as Fiio BTR3 or EarStudio ES100 if your wired synergy is no good.

I wonder if the exynos and qualcom versions sound different. I read that the exynos Note 9 sounded better than the Q version.

Historically Exynos has had the better sound. Does he have Qualcomm version? Reviewers, ideally confirm which version you have.

Where do you guys usually get your exynos or qualcomm variants?? im with my s9+ qualcomm rn and plan to wait for the note 10 release, and I've heard that in most cases exynos is better, just wondering where I can get one when the time comes

thanks!

Hopefully some in depth measurements come out soon. Would like some objective tests

Ok I tried with my Fitear 335SR. I tested with Spotify. Test with Thai Rock Song.

I think the sound is neither impressive nor bad. It is quite medium.

Sound signature is Mid Range oriented. I don't see the "breathtaking impact" that I expected to see in Rock Genre.

Detail Retrieval is ok from mid to mid bass. But I don't think I get enough deep bass and high frequency from this phone.

headstage (soundstage) is mediocre compared to I received from vivo,lg, meizu.

I think this phone is not good for audiophiles but already good for common pop-rock listeners and I would say it can't distract you when you are working like when you are using DAP or External Dac-Amp.

Oh another thing, volume scale is only common rough 15 volume steps so I don't think I can volume matching with other phones. So I'd rather not comparing with other phone that I own.
Use Samsung's sound assistant app. It'll let you customise volume up to 150 steps. I'm pretty happy with 30 steps

Thanks. Didn't know about this app.

Have confirmed delivery for my S10e, S10 & S10+ for tomorrow then I decide if I use the S10 or S10+ (S10e for another employee).

My music testing will be purely with Shure S846. All I use these days. Hopefully no low level background hiss as isn't with my LG V30+ or S9.

Exynos Galaxy phones tend to use Cirrus Logic DACs, while Snapdragon Galaxy phones use the codec included with the chipset

According to ifixit, the Snapdragon model is rocking the WCD9341 codec. The spec sheet is here. It is unknown whether or not there is additional amplification circuitry.

According to Tech Insights, the Exynos model is rocking the Cirrus Logic CS47L93 Audio Codec and two CS35L40 Audio Amplifiers.

I'm curious to know the output impedance to know how does it pair with sensitive low impedance multi-BA IEMs.

All arrived. Will hopefully leave some initial sound quality observations later.

Not too sure on the Prism Green, looks a bit girly / turquoise to me

The Prism Black has a slight blue/grey hint

The Ceramic Black looks stunning but for some reason I was expecting it to be a matt tone while its basically a mirror. On looks alone I will be using the S10+ myself.

The Girly green comes with white accessories (this colour really not for me).

And phones in the Spigen Liquid Crystal case

Immediate impression of SQ with my SE846's is it sounds great and no hiss. Exynos S10+ 512GB Ceramic Black. Currently using a LG V30+ and perfectly happy with the S10+ but the V30+ will likely drive headphones better. Listening volume with SE846's fine a 50%. Prefer in with Adapt Sound set, for life/volume to the sound. I did try the Dolby Atmos setting which changes sound slightly but not sure if a prefer with it on or off yet so left it off.

The phone itself.....stunning.

Could you elaborate further how the S10+ 's audio compare to the V30+ ? Between the two, which would come up tops and why? Thanks!

As you will appreciate, it will depend greatly on your ear/headphones & synergy between the two.

Only just set phone up so only have Spotify on at the minute but based on initial 10-15 minute listen of various tracks (classical, rock, pop, smooth) I can't believe what I'm going to say...…..

Initial feeling only with my SE846's is that bass is more defined with a more impactful kick, clarity is sharp and it sound really musical. Far to early to make a judgement yet but its all positive for me at the moment. I'm also noticing good space/separation and sound stage is decent (with some pones there isn't any!).
