Are you using Adapt Sound, that added hiss for me?

There is some kind of interference between PowerAmp and stock music player.  If I start playing with Poweramp, I may get a terrible hiss and distorted sound. Then I open the stock player and start playing at the same time, the hiss will go away and then it sound really really good. Also if Direct Volume Control setting under Advanced Tweaks in Poweramp is checked, the it sounds terrible.

I am a s3 user and love it...
I have the wolfson version...
I plan on upgrading to a note 3 or s4 and can't decide on which to get...
I find that my s3 with my eq setting sounds better then a xperia z and iphone 4s or later if that helps...
I currently use a xba3 through it and will get a momentum any day now...
I was hoping soneone could give me an idea on which sounds better...
I like a warm sound witg deep bass but I won't call myself a bass head...
My xba3 has more than enough bass....
Thnx...

hi akash,
have you ever try CellPhone : Oppo Find Clover? it has Burr Brown DAC
i have compared it to S3 and Iphone 4s. But I cant believe that my ears, still felt that the SQ from Oppo is much better.
while the price is much cheaper.. (i simply use the ear phone of CX300II)

Pls try, and correct me i'm wrong.
I'm so curious about your opinion, guys..

I haven't actually....
But as it has a burr brown I believe you...
Thing is I am soo used to my s3 I don't want to leave the samsung family...
I do plan on getting a e17 and 12 combo where the 17 is just a dac so till I get that I was hoping for a phone with audio better or the same as the s3...
If octa note three is even on par with the s3 I will get it...

I'm now officially baffled by those that say the HP out on the Note 3 isn't powerful enough...

It is more powerful than the Fiio E12 (on zero gain) at full volume - so, puzzling to say the least - must be potentially a lot of people that will be going deaf in the near future :frowning2:

Not as powerful as the E12, but might depend on your earphones too.

It certainly maxes out the VS1D,Custom 3, JH16 but hits a wall on the FXZ200. No reason to complain though.

IE800 definitely have more oomph with the Note than they do with a line-out source on the E12 (again, to be fair, I'm talking zero gain)...

Either way, definitely couldn't be considered as 'quiet' :)

Got to love the N9005 - powers the Arcam rPac and the Fiio E17 (USB Charging ON) with no problem :)

Every day it gets better :)
