My grados hurt! After a few hours of listening to music my ear lobes begin to hurt from having pressure on them, and yet I keep coming back for more, fighting against the pain because they sound so good.

My question is, what an I do to make them more comfy?

I like how they sound now, and don't want to change that, and have tried bowls and reversed the bowls to no avail. Also I've washed the bowls but that has not really increased my comfort at all.

Is my only option to go for Headphiles comfy pads, or is there another option, or am I going to have to be a life long masochist?

There are a number of other pads you can try before going to the headphile pads. The cheaper options are the radioshack and vwap pads, each of which are just a few bucks. There are also the flat pads, which are a bit more pricey at $40. Then, there are the circumaural C-pads from our new sponsor, headphile.

LOL. I would go HULK on these but they're not mine

Also, I was thinking that stertching out the headband would consequently place more pressure on the top of the head - oddly I was experiencing some discomfort there last night (the 325 is kinda heavy). One more thing to consider before you go hulk on the grados...though I guess you could just bend it back, right?

if you bend it out to the point where the top of the band is hitting your head too much, you can do 2 things -

let loose some more vertical roddage where the cups meet the band.

still uncomfy? buy a 12 buck DT770 beyer headband pad that snaps right over the grado band. done!

Headphile C-Pads all the way. There is nothing more comfortable for Grados. I highly recommend them.
