Listening to "Love Deluxe" what an amazingly beautiful and sexy album. Never fails to put me in a super-chill mood. Just hearing her voice makes me wanna crack open a nice Cabernet and lounge on the couch with my woman

I love Sade. Her "Best of..." CD is actually one of the better hits discs I've ever heard.

Anita Baker made some really great soul/r&b music during the 80s.

Yup, me too! I'm a recent convert. My girlfriend loves Sade, so I ordered all of the albulms (about 6 of them anyway) from yourmusic.com for $5.99 a pop shipped! I figured it would be nice to have them all here for when she stops by and wants to do some big rig listeningi. Not a bad one in the lot, and I actually listened to one after the next after the next when they first arrived, which I cannot do with most artists. Beautiful voice and peaceful easy listening. It was interesting to hear her British accent in the live albulm. I wouldn't have guessed it in a million years.

6 albums?
I had no idea-care to list them?
British accent is a shocker as well.

She's half-Nigerian and was raised in England.

Her discog:
* Diamond Life (Epic, 1984) (4x Platinum)
* Promise (Epic, 1985) (4x Platinum)
* Stronger Than Pride (Epic, 1988) (3x Platinum)
* Love Deluxe (Epic, 1992) (4x Platinum)
* Remix Deluxe (Epic, 1992) (Japanese)
* The Best Of Sade (Epic, 1994) (4x Platinum)
* Lovers Rock (Epic, 2000) (3x Platinum)
* Lovers Live (Epic, 2002) (Gold)

Interesting. Shes sexy as can be too, especially on that one albulm cover that shows her sillouette, but not her face. Love Deluxe, I think it is, but can't confirm because I've just lent them all out to her biggest fan.

Edit: I just went to yourmusic.com and see that it is the Love Deluxe albulm cover I was talking about, but obviously my memory of it wasn't good. You can clearly see her face and it's not a sillouette at all. It must have been the glistening of her skin that caught my eye. In any case, I'll stick with my "sexy as can be" comment.

I didn't get the "Best of" because I figured there was no point. Didn't get the Remix Deluxe either but probably will. It's all incredibly good stuff when you're in the right mood and assuming that you love her voice (as I do).

The only Remix Deluxe I see on Amazon is a 1996 release on the Phantom Sound and Visi label. It is listed as an import, but I'm wondering where I can find out more about the 1992 Epic release. The 1996 disc has only 5 tracks and was not terribly well reviewed, plus it's rather pricey ($17.99 + $2.49 S&H from Amazon).

Edit: I think I've answered my own question. They seem to be the same thing (the 1992 and 1996 releases of Remix Deluxe both have the same 5 tracks). I think I'll pass on this one.

Agreed. That CD is always on my mp3 player, no matter what else is. I can always listen to it.

She definitely needs to do a follow-up to 'Lovers Rock'. It's been too long.

Btw, the DVD of 'Lovers Live' is a nice watch, especially since she doesn't tour much. She has a subtle, understated sexiness that I really like.

Seconded... We'll put the DVD on sometimes when we have company over and it's nice to have something on TV that people don't really have to follow but can watch casually. The pic and sound quality on the DVD is pretty good as well.

Anyone know if she is working on anything new??

I Love Sade. Her voice amazes me since first hearing it, that was basically when I was a little kid (Smooth Operator). Her sensual and at the same time calm, humble style and charm is also something to behold. The DVD that comes with a CD is an awesome deal, think I got it for $11.99 in Target once. I even added my 2 cents writing a short comment for it on Amazon (the smaller spotlight review there).

This is no ordinary love, no ordinary love...

You know what the amazing thing is about Sade?
She actually doesnt have a great voice. She cant reach or extend very far at all and her style is pretty monotone as well.
HOWEVER, she has this flavor that she puts into all her music that just lulls her listeners into a blissful trance that truly never gets monotonous or boring.
Its an extremely simplistic singing style; one that very few singers use effectively, if any at all.
Ironically, its this single trait that has always seperated her from nearly every other "like" act and, its what has helped her maintain her originality.

I've never been drawn to the multi-octave voices of Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, etc. I guess it's similar to how I don't care for guitarists with amazing chops like Malmsteen, Vai, and Satriani.
