Hi. OK. Thinking about going ss (Again). Using UE9's. How much better is the RPX33 over the NX03 percentage wise. Also how does the RPX33 compare to say the GS-1 or BETA22? As you can probably tell, i'm thinking about Rudistor (again), seeing now i have UE9's. Nothing wrong with the Yammy, i love it to death, just i think ss will really 'tighten' up the bass, as i listen to rock mainly, and all my music has 'electric bass', not 'upright bass'. Anyone have answers? Sovkiller, you around?? Cheers.

I have not heard the NX03 but I have the RPX-33 MkII and the GS-1 with stepped attenuator.
The RPX is a dual mono design so just for that you know it has a lot more power and better control than the NX03. If price is no object I would go wit the RPX.

Now comparing to the GS-1. IMO the GS-1 is dryer and more analytical than the RPX which sound mor musical. Physically the RPX is bigger and heavier than the GS-1.
The GS-1 still is a great amplifier but it all depends on your taste and the matching headphones.

Pared to the Edition 9 IMO is a no brainer to go with the RPX. Is a match made in heaven.

Good question. I'd love to know. Anyway, great info, thanks. Looks like rpx33 so far, kind of knew it would be. Anyone else compared rpx33 to other ss amps. BTW my Yamamoto is starting to sound incredibly good with UE9's as it burns in, definite synergy there, no doubt, very hypnotizing, like climbing into the music, only way i can describe it. I think ss will just tighten the bass that few %, that's all i'm after.

IMO the RPX has better bass and punch but again if price is an issue the GS-1 is a great option.

Compared to other ss head amps that I've heard, the RPX33 is more tubelike, meaning for me that it is warm, full-bodied, immediate and organic. Its stoundstage is large with plenty of air around the instruments but notes are dense at the same time. It still has a bit of the high frequency sizzle that you would expect with a ss design, but it's not fatiguing. The bass is full and very realistic. Overall, there is something quite irresistible about the sound.

There have been several versions of the RPX33, and of the ones I've heard, they vary slightly in SQ, but are basically cut from the same fabric.

Hi Minivan. I think source is fine. I think for the tight bass i'm after Rotel is very 'digital' and 'detailed' sounding. Just classic tubes vs ss i think! Totally an amp thing, not to say i won't upgrade my source eventually.

Braddo, how does your W5000 compare to the UE9 and K701? I have the W5000 and want to know if the UE9 is a major jump in quality.
