what is the difference in sq?

Leatherette/hard rubber pads usually offer more isolation and bass might be felt a little bit more. Velour pads can be a bit lower in isolation and let treble get a bit more presence or be balanced too. But the headphone fit itself offers great isolation with either set of pads. Otherwise, no great change is SQ, especially when properly amped. Just as neutral as it ever was. (But the difference in SQ is felt a lot more easily when you interchange the two pairs of stock pads on DT-1990 as they were designed so with SQ change purpose.) Such a big difference isnt felt in DT-150 case.

Ordered this cheap tube amp. Looks promising. $40 from AliExpress. Good reviews: http://www.head-fi.org/t/794796/nobsound-ns-08e-also-know-as-nobsound-6j9-hybrid-tube-amp/0_60#post_12897577

Any site one can buy vaccum tubes in India from? Like, Amerex 6688a...

"Warm, intoxicating sound with live atmosphere"
Grabbed my attention! I can upgrade my DT 150 finally. Also, how do the DT 150s compared against the DT 1770 pro?

"beyerdynamic Amiron home" thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/821567/beyerdynamic-amiron-home-the-new-t90/0_60#post_12901660
Detachable dual-entry cables allow for easy replacements and balanced-cable mods. Also, Tesla 2.0 drivers and balanced signature discarding the old T90 sharp treble. So, seems to be a good bet.

DT-150 is old world big-heart effort with pleasing results. DT-1770 is utterly effortless. Faster, punchier and clinical and passionately near-neutral and all that without demanding a great amp to deliver those. DT-150 makes a big effort and even succeeds in its attempt to give big sound stage, good bass, forward mids and not-so-harsh treble and transparent-enough balanced signature without holding back much unlike other old or neo-old beyers that are treble-loving. But DT-150 delivers those well so only under a good amp. It is a gladiator that needs its big-breakfast fix a trait that can also be viewd as a headphone that does decent enough straight out of computer but scales surprisingly well with amping. DT-150 is Charles Huston in and as Benhur while DT-1770 is Russell Crowe in and as The Gladiator. Both defy authority and please viewers/listeners in a beautiful way. Russell just moves faster and hits deeper even on an empty stomach and dead wife.

But as value-for-money? At Rs.13k, DT-150 is a steal that performs like a HD-650 closed version but unnoticed by the world. But only under amping. And DT-1770 at $450-$599 is a great steal too with Tesla 2.0 drivers and detachable cable and neutral signature that performs like a "hypothetical HD-680" - an $800 HD800 studio version Sennheiser could have designed to do the studio neutral job that HD-650 is already doing but a bit better and without that HD650 veil. So, both are great value-for-money. Depends on tour patience. Want it right away with the savings you readied for DT-150? Go buy it right away and a $100 amp. Got more patience? Wait for a month or two, get DT-1770 at $400 or even less during Christmas sale on Amazon through any friend via USA (or UK where it is already at 350 pounds) or just negotiate a deal with beyerdynamic India for $400 in Rs, especially since it has been a year since 1770 came and Christmas sale is coming across the world and 1990 and T90 successor are also crowding the beyer market, not just T1.2/T5p.2, and the successors to T70/p too might be around the corner - a good enough reason.

I am asking a simple question.

What would be the recommended headphones under the following price range. I mean most neutral sounding one, accuracy oriented and all, with great comfort in mind. Closed Back :)

Within ₹10000, ₹20000 and ₹30000 respectively.

Is this HD569?
http://www.amazon.in/Sennheiser-HD-598-Closed-Headphone/dp/B01JP436TS/ref=sr_1_15?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1475389437&sr=1-15

Amazon India is selling it as HD598 CS (closed back). There is no such thing. From the pics it does look identical to HD569.

IINW, these are Sennheiser HD598 Special edition that was Amazon's exclusive, launched during last year's blackfriday (sold for 6000 bucks in India and 100 USD across the globe)

You are confusing it with SE, it's CS and says closed back.

I assume the seller has wrongly given such title. Besides, the seller seems to be not the usual "Cloudtail" (frontend of Amazon India) but just trying to have a similar sounding name.

I couldn't find anywhere on the net except the seller that you have posted, selling a model named HD598CS (with a picture of HD598SE), if there is such model exists officially from Sennheiser.

Read the first review. It's closed back and genuine sennheiser.

Edit: See the pics closely they are closed back cans. Same as HD569.

Yep, the buyer has got what appears to be the first such model (HD598 with closed back). Still, weird having no info other than that sole buyer's impressions about this model (anywhere on the net).

I still think they are HD569 under HD598 badge for marketing. Atleast they are offering good discount right now. For those looking for a closed back Hd569 this is a good deal.
