I had tons of music in flac just rotting on my mac! But then i noticed this program (X Lossless Decoder 20080822 - MacUpdate) which converts your flac files to WAV / ALAC which ipod supports.
Super sweet program for mac users with a library of music that you have encoded in FLAC and you want to upload to your iTunes library / iPod

I convert FLAC to ALAC via dbpoweramp for play on the iPod.

I know a lot of people don't like iTunes, but I use it and would find it quite difficult to reverse that decision now.

isn't WMA a lossy and compressed audio format?
the Flac files are Lossless therefore better audio quality,

I believe Ipods have there own Lossless format that they can convert to

WMA can be lossy. But it's pretty clear he is talking about WMA lossless, because otherwise he would have just converted to mp3 or something.

And Apple's lossless format is ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec)

It must be a Mac only thing because Windows iTunes doesn't allow it.

iTunes on Windows do support WMA lossless.

OP, if you're going to be using iTunes you might as well convert those FLACs to ALAC instead of WMA lossless.

Seems like a better option as it's still gonna' be used on a MAC anyways. Even a waste on a PC IMO! Since your gonna' use an ipod go ALAC.

Why, that's apple's idea of "support". It converts the files to another format and "screws" the quality in the process. Nice 1 lewislink!!!

If you have your library on your PC as FLAC, then its way easier to drag and drop those files you want onto your Ipod - no transcoding, no itunes. Simple.

Why would you want to use WAV?
