EAC is a great program -
Once upon a time the installation process was challenging as the preferred encoder was not bundled with the installer. You had to download the encoder separately and literally point EAC at it. EAC would then open the encoder .exe during every rip. It was fun to watch actually, like the computer was possessed.
Installation today (V1.0 beta 3) is a piece of cake.
However, it is very feature rich, which can be off-putting to some. The access to CDDB for automatic track naming is pretty awesome, a big time saver. Handles, FLAC, WMA, MP3, etc. Not sure about ALAC though.
