hmmm, amongst other things. would their whole psychedelic side have been omitted?! and their signature 'dark star' never to have seen the light of day

- what a loss that'd have been!

no purple haze
no kid charlemagne
no acid tests
no jefferson airplane
no quicksilver messenger service
no hot tuna
no big brother and the holding company
no one flew over the cuckoo's nest
no phish

who knows what amplified music would be like without his influence?
who knows what concert recordings would be like without his influence?

I wish I'd bought one of his belt buckles when I had the chance.

Yup, I had a chance to get one of his bronze buckles a LONG time ago, for signficantly cheaper than even the "original price" in those listings...oh well...I was poor, and that price was higher to me then than the for sale price is now.

I never knew him, but he shared a vw van on a tour with a casual friend of mine back when the dead were still grateful.  He was a very influential person in my life.
