For those of you who love the FLAC based goodness of their Rio Karma, but don't feel quite the same way about its hard drive, fret no more.

As reported over at dapreview.net

Someone has replaced their karma hard drive with a 8GB compact flash.

Now I know what to do when the hard drive eventually fails.

So how does it sound now? The same? Does it skip or bog down at all?
How about adding a USB port to it,so u can add an external thumb drive or hard drive so theres no limit to the amount of music u can bring?

why do peole always thing that HDD players sound better then flash...
just because the guy replaced the hdd with a flashcard doesnt mean the sound quality changes to...

hdd or flash memory has nothong to do with soundquality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i read few threads now where some funny guys made statements like "...hdd players are alway superrior to flash in sq!"
