Disclaimer; some of my readers gifted this to me, I am very grateful for that.

I honestly am not very impressed by it, from sound to it as a tws.
Sound wise, it does not beat the galaxy buds pro neither in stock nor in modded form.

And as a TWS, I cant even connect it to my windows 10 pc (no graphs because of that).

And while I was about to test the other BT functions more, my left unit suddenly died. Great, it lasted like 2 hours. Avoid this piece of junk....

On a more positive note, the modded Tanchjim Echo is my favorite tws and is a beast.

Will come back and update my modded ranking for this later.

I should be able to start my CCA CRA review soon, as my last mod package is in Sweden now.
I also have some other KZ´s incoming (CA10 and ZES (no clue what this one is though)) and also the Dunu SA4 and the Titan S.

awesome! yall making me anxious for tomorrow when they get delivered
:fire:

one ? for you, i saw your cable rankings...how do you feel the dunu duw-02 compares to the A25 cable on your list?
I prefer A25, looks better to me, Dunu cables only have the edge with the modular cable system over the XINHS cables.

Although recently, it seems that most iems actually do include decent stock cables, so I havent really cared too much about swapping them lately...

2021-01-15: Some new buds that I got from @nymz.

VE Monk Plus SPC: C

L-shaped

Lots of mid-bass (has bloat), vocals are a bit recessed (unclean), treble is non-peaky and smooth, decent timbre, lacking in resolution

VE Monk SM: D+

Bright-neutral

Lacks a lot of bass, decent vocals, treble is elevated too much, has good technicalities but timbre is not that good

Blur MX64 OFC STE - special tuning edition (using Hiegi foams): S+

Bass-boosted neutral

Excellent bass texture that is elevated, forward and clean vocals with great tonality, treble is airy but smooth, very technical (not the best timbre or stage, but good)

Comparisons:

MX64 OFC STE - special tuning edition (Hiegi foam)LBBS

Mid-bass+-
Lower-mids+-
Upper-mids-+
Treble==
Upper-treble-+

Overall: The LBBS is a bit more technical (does have the tuning advantage) and better timbre, tonality wise I do enjoy the MX64 more and it suits my library better, but the LBBS is more of a specialist for acoustic/vocal tracks which it is doing a lot better than the more versatile MX64. It is impressive that the MX64 can still compete with the LBBS in terms of technicalities when it is warmer and bassier than the LBBS.

Technicalities are quite a bit better on the Chaconne and even more so if used with regular foams instead of the Hiegi on the Chaconne.

Thanks so much for the NoBS comparison @RikudouGoku 👍

Any interest in checking the XINHS graphene cable(s)?

I got the 4 core version from XINHS, its cable A13.

The 8-core cable, is presumably what is included with the LZ A4 Pro and measures at 0.11 ohm. Insane cable, but personally I think its too expensive and I dont like the colors. :joy:

I havent bought any new cables in a long time now, but basically the TLDR of the cable world is that you should pick an A tier cable based on your color preferences.

The majority of the 3rd party cables out there measures very well nowadays as you can see based on my db. (76% in A tier.)

Moondrop Kato Impressions:

Bass: Very flat sounding bass, clean and tight/fast. It does lack a lot of texture but is fine for the genres it is performing well with (weeb tracks/OSTs).

Mids: Great vocal tonality and timbre, especially female vocals. Male vocals can lack some warmth though, but has good timbre. Instrument timbre and tonality such as piano´s are excellent.

Treble: clean, energetic but pretty smooth and airy. Shouldn’t be a problem for most people, overall tonality is on the brighter side.

Overall: A very well-tuned bright-neutral iem. The 2 nozzles sound pretty much identical to me though and since they are empty, there is plenty of room to do your own modding to one of them (or both).

pst, just put up my Sennheiser HD560S and the Tanchjim Hana for sale:
https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/sennheiser-hd-560s.18950/
https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/tanchjim-hana.18961/

Kato review should be done this weekend.

Edit: Tanchjim Hana for sale.

Bro have u tried modding the Hana (yours is the original version) with a Tanchjim filter? Spoke to a few friends locally who just used the Oxygen/Tanya filters and the graph looks the same as the Hana 2021 (ie tamed the shouty upper mids).
