To me it is likely firmware bug on battery calibration/reading. It is just common charging from 50% to 55% takes 1 hr, then suddenly jump to 99% towards the end of charge. It does take a while to reach 100% from 99%. 

Hopefully 1.06 fixes that

The next firmware for the QP1R should be arriving late May. Hopefully Questyle will be able to update what they can (fulfilling as many requests from owners as possible).

A little tangent here: any news on the standard QP1 update? Still has some of the early QP1R issues that would be nice to see fixed.

Anyone have a recommendation for a small padded case to carry the QP1R and the JH Angie in its metal case? I want to carry them together on trips and have them with me instead of in luggage.

+1.  And while we're on the subject of Angie and QP1r, my SD cord is done-for.  Can't afford a new cord at this time.  Can't find a 2.5 bal. to 3.5 SD adaptor so I can use my balanced cord for the time-being.  Anyone have an idea where I could get one for now?

I am curious why my QP1R will never charges past 99 percent.

Mine is like that too. I've tried a couple of chargers and the only one that charges it to 100% is the Apple iPad 12W charger.

Still interested in this question. My pockets are not an option and I don't want a belt pouch. Just a pouch I can put the QP1R and Angie metal case into that will protect them, keep them together and something that can be thrown in a carry on bag when flying.

I have an older LowePro case for GPS units that does a nice job with the QP1R, cables and iPad Charger.  If I ditch the charger, my ciems fit nicely, but not in the metal UE case that I keep them in, just loose in the LowePro.  I always cruise the camera department at BestBuy for cases as well.
