the volume on 1.09 goes upto 120, whereas on 1.08 it maxes out at 60 but is louder ??????I'm using 1.0.9. Do not recall updating them myself besides maybe when it went for servicing last year

Yes, FW 1.08 volume is louder than that of 1.09. A volume of 40 on the older FW is louder than a corresponding volume of 80 with the newest FW.
No. 1.0.9 is approximately 20% quieter than 1.0.8. What I mean is, if you listened to a song at 30 out of 60 with 1.0.8, you would have to listen higher than 60 out of 120 with 1.0.9. Moedawg140 who started this thread agrees with me and has long since mentioned it to Questyle. They never even responded. At least they are consistent!
Edit: Sorry, mwhals got in first while I was typing!

The battery indicator and unpredictable battery life remains unfixed though unsurprisingly. Itching me to buy the QP2R but waiting for my 1R to give out first

The battery issue was a hardware issue, you had to send in your device to get it fixed, may be it also needed a software fix but just 1.0.9 doesn't fix it.

I never had the battery issue, but I bought mine more than a year after it first went on sale.

Depended on the production batches, some were OK and needed no fix, some were fixed by the FW update and others, like mine, required a hardware fix (sent to China!).
As mine had a HW fix, I daren't role it back to v1.08 - all I need to do is turn the volume up!!!

The QP2R's volume on the 3.5mm headphone output on the is quite low. My QP1R with 1.0.8 firmware on medium gain was the same as the QP2R on high gain.
You can, of course, use the 2.5mm balanced output, but at the very least, you will have to purchase new cables for your IEMs and headphones.

Initially I did not observe the battery anomaly on my unit after some months owning it...
Also I do recall stating the battery issue to the sales rep in Singapore when he brought it for servicing in Foxconn. It stayed good for only a while when I got it back...

Does anyone know if there are any places where I can buy the wheel sticker for the QP1R?

Thanks!@bSquared64 should be able to set you up with one.
Can’t wait to hear the QP1R. I hope it has some nice dynamics and would love for it to have that holographic sound to it.

Just found this on Sound and vision $2,000 / £1,500 ish for the QP Master - ouch, that's me out of the game. Will have to look elsewhere if I give up my QP1R...
'Questyle, the China-based company specializing in high-resolution portable audio systems, has announced plans to demonstrate a high-end, multiroom wireless audio system at the upcoming Audio Expo North America (AXPONA) in Chicago.
Aimed squarely at audiophiles, the Wireless Eco System is said to deliver uncompressed “lossless” audio up to 300 feet to any speakers via a closed 5-GHz network.
The system comprises four main components: the new QP Master portable digital audio player ($1,999); the SHB2 Super Source preamp/transmitter ($1,999), which includes a dock for the player; the CMA Twelve headphone amp/DAC ($1,499), featuring “pure class A bias” and resonance controls; and two new RX200 wireless 200-watt monoblock power amplifiers, featuring built-in AKM4490 digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and the company’s Current Mode Amplification technology (estimated at $3,500/pair). The system supports the wireless transmission of DSD256 and PCM384 files and will be demonstrated with Revel’s $22,000 a pair Salon2 speakers.
With Questyle’s Super Source as its hub, the system has the ability to pair up to 10 lossless channels to set up a whole home audio system or a multichannel home theater.
The QP Master portable player, a new addition to the company’s iOS/Android-compatible QP series of digital audio players, features improved cosmetics and performance, including higher power, a lower noise floor, the addition of a 4.4mm balanced output, and the ability to stream from a smartphone or tablet via its USB C port.
“The Questyle Wireless Eco System eliminates the problem of wires and amplification by running on its own FCC-approved closed 5-GHz frequency and converting the digital audio signal the right at the speakers instead of at the source,” the company said in a press release. “This helps eliminate impedance mismatching, distortion, jitter and jutter caused by wires with varying materials, and eliminates the need for wires altogether, from source to speaker.”
Four years in the making, the system is based on extensive R&D and customer feedback, according to Questyle.

See that's the short-sighted thing about Questyle. I could easily purchase a QP Master or one of their 4 box Golden Reference Systems, but won't get any more money from me, because they don't care about me, a multiple times customer, as evidenced by them not replying to any of my emails.
Anyway, if they want to sell any QP Master's in the UK, we need a distributor to supply what's left of the UK retailers first.
