Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Dec 27, 2018 at 2:23 PM Post #6,647 of 7,140
Hi. I have both the QP2R and the QP1R. Is the Shure SE846 still worth it, or is there better to be had for the same money?
Hi Daren,
I don't owe the QPR2, but the SE846 with the QP1R is a great combination (for my ears). I use the SE846 with different dap's (QP1R, DX200, OPUS1S, DX90) so for me this really is a very good universal IEM and still worth it's money.

As this seems to be the most active QP1R thread I am asking this question here. After updating to Mojave, the QP1R internal HD is not being read on my mid 2014 MBP running 10.14.2 (Mojave). The 2 sd cards come up fine. QP1R firmware v1.09. I tried various cables as well. It works fine on my iMac running Sierra. Anyone else having this issue?

I also have a MBP, running Mojave10.14.2 and I'm not having any problem. You might want to try resetting the PRAM and also SMC, on your Mac and see if that helps. Follow this link SMC/PRAM for instructions, if you don't already know how to do it.
Good Luck.

Great - thanks for the reply. That helps a lot. I will try those steps.

One other thing you may try is, deleting the finder plist file. If you go to the 'GO' menu dropdown, in the finder and hold down the option key, you'l see you now have a 'Library' option. Click on Library and navigate to the Preference folder. in that folder look for 'com.apple.finder.plist' file. This hold the settings for how the finder displays fonts and images on the desktop.. You can delete this file and it does no harm to your Mac (you may have to delete it twice because, it may be recreated instantly) Restart your mac and the Finder preference file will be rebuilt. No ill effect will be caused other than the finder will go to default settings. Hopefully the QP1R internal drive will be visible now. If in doubt about this suggestion, just Google deleting the Finder plist and you'll get an understanding of what this fie does and how it might help you with your problem.

Again, Good Luck

Oh my GOD! You've been spreading that volume crap around enough. The volume just takes twice as much movement to change level-120 bloody steps instead of the usual 60. You've bought and sold this rig more than I can think of an example to use.
Since, as I suspect, there's not going to be any more useful updates, and since people seem to be so anal about a stupid battery guage, and it's simpler direct operating system: I think this thread has run out of steam. Credit to @moedawg140 for initiating this thread, and all the help he's been to me. I think this is, however, it for me.

I realise 30 out of 120 isn't going to be as loud as 30 out of 60. What I've said many times is if I listen at 40 on 1.0.8, I now have to listen at higher than 80 on 1.0.9 to get the same volume. Moedawg140, the person that started this thread agrees with me that 1.0.9 has an approximate 20% reduction in volume compared to 1.0.8 and has mentioned it to Questyle, but they seem to have dropped support for the QP1R. The two posts below prove my point.

Or this one! https://www.head-fi.org/threads/rev...nd-iem-pairings.778877/page-432#post-14362600

I hope this an end to the volume issue.

Okay, I had my Questyle QP1R up for sale, because I was in upgrade mode... But decided to have a New Year's Day listen. I just took the classified down and I am keeping it.
