I bought the new shure se215 but I heard the etymotic hf5 was just as good if not better. Has anyone tried both se215 and HF5 and can recommend me returning the se215 for the hf5? Where I live there are no places i know where you can demo in ear headphones so I purchased the se215 based on the good feedback it received and colour.

It really depends on what sound sig you like.

I would say don't bother if you like the SE215s.

The RE-400 may make more sense being that it's also neutral and balanced, much like the hf5's, but not as analytical with a bit more warmth and bottom end.   Sound sig wise, it "kinda" falls between the 215's and the hf5's.
