As of right now (after about 12 hours), there have been 50, 51, and 17 votes in each of the 3 polls <US$100, US$100-300, >US$300 respectively. I would guess this means around 70 different people have voted.
These 70 odd people own 286 phones from the list (an average of 4 each).
The top twenty (which make up almost 80% of the 286 are:
1. Sennheiser HD-600 (US$220 - Meier Audio) with 19 votes (6.8%)
2. Sony MDR-V6 (approx. US$69) with 17 votes (6.2%)
3. Koss KSC-35 (approx. US$30) with 16 votes (6.6%)
4. Sennheiser HD-580 (US$190 - etronics.com) with 15 votes (5.8%)
4. Sennheiser MX-500 (approx. US$19) with 15 votes (3.7%)
6. Sony EX-70 ($33--AAAPrice) with 13 votes (3.5%)
7. Grado SR-60 (approx. US$69) with 12 votes (4.9%)
7. Etymotic ER-4S (US$269 - Headroom) with 12 votes (4.7%)
9. Sony MDR-E888 (approx. US$68) with 11 votes (3.3%)
10. Koss KSC-50 (approx. US$20) with 10 votes (3.9%)
10. Koss Porta Pro (approx. US$49) with 10 votes (3.1%)
10. Etymotic ER-4P (US$269 - Headroom) with 10 votes (3.1%)
13. AKG-K501 (US$118 - Music Friends) with 9 votes (2.7%)
14. Grado SR-80 (approx. US$95) with 7 votes (3.9%)
14. Grado SR-325 (approx. US$295) with 7 votes (2.7%)
14. Philips SBC HP890 (approx. US$90) with 7 votes (2.3%)
14. Sony MDR-CD3000 (US$380 - etronics.com) with 7 votes (2.1%)
14. Beyerdynamic DT250-80 (approx. US$169) with 7 votes (2.1%)
14. Etymotic ER6 (approx. US$129) with 7 votes (1.9%)
20. Sony MDR-7506 (approx. US$99) with 6 votes (1.4%)
20. Sennheiser MX-400 (approx. US$15) with 6 votes (1.2%)
Note: Headphones with an equal number of votes tie for position
Some real surprises here (for me anyway) - the Sony MDR-CD3000, tied at number 14, is the only over $300 phone to make the top twenty (but then it's been around a while and is the lowest cost item on that list) and tieing for 20ths spot is cheapest on the list, Sennheiser MX-400 and the Sony MDR-7506.
But where is Team Grado ???
Let's see how the top twenty list changes as more votes are added.
Thanks for good response ... Nix
