Heyah,
I have been using Etymotic Research HF5 for about a year. Alas, the cable died and - as the insurer has paid the money - the time has come to buy new earphones.
I like the sound signature of HF5. I wouldn't mind slightly more bass, but otherwise I enjoyed them. Alas, as I use the earphones on daily basis for a few hours (and that includes evening gym and morning jogging), the cable is always the weakest link - especially in the case of HF5 whose cable is really poor...
Thus, my questions:
1) Are there any earphones with replaceable cables at this price range?
2) Otherwise, are there any earphones which could be described as "HF5 with slightly more bass"?
HF5 costs £122 in the UK.
Having looked through this forum, I have noticed some good opinions about Shure SE315 (£130) and SE215 (£75) which both seem to have detachable cable. How is their sound and quality compared to HF5? I have to admit, though, that SE315 costs probably more than I would be willing to pay...
Well, worst case scenario I can always just buy another pair of HF5 .
Thank you for your help!
