  • I have a pair of Shure SE530 earphones. There is a flared rubber piece through which the cable runs where it enters the earphone, which I assume is probably a strain relief boot for preventing damage to the cable from bending too sharply.

One of the boots has become detached and slides up and down the cable. Can this be glued back into place? If so, what kind of glue should be used? Is it shrinkwrap material that can be re-shrunk with a hair dryer, for example?

I tried Shure support, but they don't make repairs, they just replace the damaged part. So they weren't able to offer any advice on repairs.

    Thanks for your help.
