I agree. They sound better than pretty much any CD player I've listened to, although I haven't listened to any of the multi-thousand models. I've had no issues playing CD-Rs that I've burned on my laptop. I unplug the unit from the wall outlet occasionally and apparently it resets something in the software that prevents the skipping issues from recurring. I'm happy now –– dread the day I am forced to stream bits the other way.

I have had my Rega Apollo for almost a decade now with no playback issues. I have also owned the Rega Planet , many Yamaha/ Rotel CD Players and a Sony SACD player.
 
It was the first CD player I owned where I heard and felt an organic richness that appeared different to every other player owned previously.
 
I have not recently compared my Apollo with any newer DAC's/ newer players but it gives me audio bliss when paired to a Schitt Valhalla 2 tube amp and HD800 headphones.
